Cimarrone has been one of my favorite courses. It has some very beautiful holes. Water can be in play on just about every hole but the fairways are generous. Overall it is challenging but playable. I hadn’t played in a while so the course conditions this week was a shock. The greens were in terrible condition. Some had barely any grass, some had an obvious disease and some were in pretty good condition. The same could be said of the tee boxes. I really like this course and hope that the above issues are on someone’s “to do list”. I look forward to playing Cimarrone again and writing a more positive review.

I really enjoy playing at South Hampton. The staff is friendly. The course was in pretty good condition. Fairways and tee boxes are growing in. Still some greens that need to reach spring conditions although the roll was true and consistent speed from green to green. I always seem to be matched up with interesting and friendly players. It is becoming my favorite course in the SA area. It can be difficult to grab a morning tee time but that is pretty much the case at any decent course today.

Magnolia was a nice course but not easy to get to from St. Augustine. The greens were a little inconsistent. Some slow, some petty fast. Overall the course was in good shape for the end of January. .Water on the back nine, bunkers on the front. Lot is bunkers. Good course for all levels of play. Slow playing because of players searching for golf balls. Grrrrr!

I really like this course. It is always in great condition. Always well maintained. The greens are slippery. Overall the course is challenging but playable. The staff is friendly. However, it does get a lot of play so, as a nonmember, booking a tee time is a challenge.

Cyprus Knoll isn’t a challenging course. Fairways are pretty open, just a couple of holes where water comes in play but there are bunkers to avoid. The course was in reasonably good condition of mid Jan. Green speed was moderate, not slippery but also not slow. Fairways were in pretty good shape. The carts were functional, they got me through the 18 holes but mine looked like it was in a collision. The other carts I saw weren’t in much better condition. The price was reasonable and the staff was friendly.

I really enjoyed playing The Yards. It is in the same complex as TPC Sawgrass. The course was in great condition for the middle of January. It is a challenging but playable 9 hole course. There are 3 additional par 3’s but those seemed more like “fillers” that consumed extra land they had. There are plenty of strategically placed bunkers and water comes in to play on most of the holes. But for the most part, the fairways are large and so are the greens. However, the greens are challenging. They are fast and there is a lot of elevation changes. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The entire experience was great and well worth the 50 minute drive from St. Augustine.

Pine Lakes used to be one of my favorites courses in northwest florida. I played there yesterday and was shocked by how much the course has deteriorated since the last time I played. The greens were awful. I don’t know if the reason for the deterioration is due to disease, financial issues or neglect but they were terrible. All the greens had huge bare spots, at least 50% or more of the putting surface was bare soil. I believe the staff should advise players the there is problem and it is being addressed. I drove for 40 minutes to play this course only to find out the conditions were terrible. I’m sorry to say that I won’t be going back until I know that whatever has caused the blight on the greens has been addressed.

This was the first time playing St. John’s Golf & Country Club. I have tried a few times but found it difficult to get the tee time I wanted. I’m glad that I got to play there yesterday. What a nice course and it was in good condition for January. The course is laid out nicely and is challenging but playable. The tee boxes are positioned to give players of all levels a fair challenge. It’s a pretty course. Some after, lots of traps. I played on a Sunday and the starter said that they had a full tee sheet. I didn’t doubt him since the parking lot was fairly full and lots of players around the clubhouse. We teed off right on time and played at a nice steady pace. The only slight hold up started on the 15th hole and even then we only had to wait about 5 minutes for them to clear. Overall, I liked the course, would recommend it and look forward to playing there again.

I always enjoy playing at SJGC. The staff are friendly. The course is always I pretty good condition and I always seem to meet the nicest people on the course.

Enjoyed playing So. Hampton. People are nice and the course is challenging but playable

This was my first time playing Cimarrone and I’ll be back. As a 16 handicap, I felt the course to be challenging but playable. Loved the layout of the course. Greens were fast. The course was in fairly good condition for this time of year. Played from the white tee boxes and thought that the slope rating was a little low. Water in play on just about every hole. Plus plenty of green side bunkers.

Over the years we have played this course dozens of times and enjoyed playing there. Today was disappointing. The greens were inconsistent and the bunkers were shallow.

This is a nice course. Playable with enough challenges that require you to make a good shot. The course is short so your long irons or hybrids stay in your bag. But to score you need to put your drives in the middle of the fairway and hit the greens with you wedges. The staff are very friendly. Always an enjoyable experience.

This was a nice course. Some very interesting and challenging hole. The greens are in good condition. They were not as fast today as they were last week. Fairways and tees were Also in good condition. The golf carts can use an upgrade. They have a lot of miles on them. Tires are bald and steering can be a little loose. Staff was very friendly. I will play there again.

Always enjoy play at St Johns. Great layout that plays well for both a low and high handicap golfer. Some really challenging and fun holes. The staff is friendly. We will be back several time before we have to head back north.

We enjoyed our round of golf today at Royal St. Augustine. The course was in pretty good shape. The greens were slippery! Moved right along. 18 holes took us just about 4 hrs.

What an enjoyable course. It was in excellent condition, the fairways were green and well taken care of. The greens were great, the green speed was consistent from green to green. The bunkers were also consistent and in good condition, if only players would learn to rake after their shot. The holes are nicely laid out although there are a couple of holes that are hard to find unless you have previously played there. It is a public course so it does get a lot of use. Play can be slow at times. Not a difficult course but does have some interesting & challenging holes. In addition the overall course was beautiful, lots of water & wild life. The staff was very friendly. Will certainly play there again soon.

Royal St. Augustine is a nice course. It was in pretty good shape for this time of year. Greens were much slower than I’m used to. The staff was friendly.
I will definitely play here again

I had played Habitat a couple of times previously and was really looking forward to playing again. Unfortunately the course was in terrible condition. The greens looked like they were deseased and in poor condition. The tee boxes were overgrown with weeds. Overall the course needed a lot of water. All the ponds were way below their normal level. It looked like it had not received rain in forever. I was disappointed because I have enjoyed this course previously.
