The maintenance crew has been busting their butts and has South Hampton back looking great. Green’s were receptive and fast, fairways were great and tee boxes had great over-seed. Highly recommend this course.

South hampton‘s greens for the longest time were some of the most consistent in the area. In the past year they were spotty and not to the same standard I have seen for the past decade. But we played today 10/14/23 and South hampton is almost back to the standard we all know. The front nine has a couple greens that have some thin spots but From hole seven on the greens are in wonderful condition. We played after 4 inches of rain and the course drained fairly well. Ryan and the pro shop is a true professional and always makes me feel appreciated as a customer. Would play again and highly recommend South hampton. It’s a fun course that doesn’t beat you up.

Great course conditions!! A couple days without rain did that course a lot of good. Greens were running really fast and smooth. Pace of play was great although we were a little slow and that’s on our group. For a round to cost under $50 and that course being in that good of shape it Has to be the best value in Jacksonville.

Absolute gem of a round! Course was in great shape greens were rolling fast as usual and everything was very lush and green. We had no one in front of us and teed off at 7:18 AM. Southampton is always a great option when looking for a great place to play. The golf cart we had started to die so we got another one from the cart attendant but that one was having issues too so if I had to complain I wish they had better carts.
Our playing partners were rather loud(talking and cart driving around) every time we hit a shot but the course has nothing to do with that. Big money Nassau game going. Also came two inches from a hole in One great day overall!

So I totally understand when it rains we need to keep the carts of the fairways to keep them from tearing up the grass. South hampton is built up pretty well and has a sandy base so I believe a more common sense approach where we allow carts on holes that aren't soaking wet. Pace of play will always be an issue I get it but rangers can speed people up or make them skip holes. When you play a 2 1/2 hr round in the morning and a 5 1/2 hr round in the afternoon it gets me thinking.

Listen all golfers understand that if you choose to play on the weekend afternoon you might encounter some slow play. As I was warming up I noticed a twosome of Walkers going out which was a little concerning. It took 3 hours to play the front 9 every hole we were waiting. We decided to play the front again after we made it turn and played it in an hour and 20 minutes. I know it's a problem everywhere but I really wish the Rangers would make people skip a hole or something. I wish they could just fine you like they do on the tour that would speed people up. For frustrated golfers everywhere please help
