Woodland Hills Golf Club
Played On 07/04/2023Hidden gem
Beautiful course with rolling hills, impressive landscaping, dramatic elevation changes, and plenty of wildlife. It’s almost a nature preserve where they let you play golf. The course is on the shorter side but you have to hit the fairways to score well. For a shorter course it has very large greens that putt true even a few weeks after punching. I only wish I had found this course sooner. If you get a chance, play it!

My favorite practice course for dialing in approach shots. Greens are coming in nicely and will be smooth and fast in another couple weeks. Pace of play was excellent. Two golfers and we finished round in 2 hours 10 minutes and played through two separate groups of 4. If you want to practice or work on wedge game, this is the place to do it! If they would add a practice bunker somewhere near one of the practice greens, it would be great.

Played On 06/20/2018Aerated greens
Tees and greens both aerated this week but course still playable and fun. Can’t wait til the greens are back to normal as they are the best around. A shout out to the staff that keeps this course in such good shape despite the hot weather and amount of play it receives. Keep up the good work.
Legacy Golf Links
Played On 06/15/2018Quick twilight round at Legacy
I was not going to be able to play on the weekend so I snuck in a round Friday night after work. Started at 7 and finished at 8:33. Played all 18 holes! If there is a better place in metro Atlanta to practice or get in a quick round of golf I’ve never come across it. This place is the best and the greens are the best I’ve come across on a public golf course. If you’re reading reviews to decide whether to play here, do yourself a favor and book the tee time, you won’t be disappointed. Best executive course and a favorite golf course of mine, period.
Beachwood Golf Club
Played On 06/08/2018Convenient location
Very close to the beach and right off the main highway. Only a mile or two from the main part of North Myrtle. Easy to get to and a great layout. Greens coming back from aeration and are pretty good except for a few spots on a couple greens. No blind shots anywhere on the course which is great for those of us who haven’t played here before. Would love to play here again when in the area.
Fox Creek Golf Club
Played On 06/03/2018Challenging
A stiffer challenger than its sister course up the road. A good balance between a par 3 course and a regulation-size course. At a par 62, you get a nice mix of longer holes with the abundance of par 3’s typical of an executive course. Very nice if you want a 3 hour round but want to hit more than just short irons. Greens are coming in nicely after aeration, a little bumpy but still remarkably quick if you’re putting down hill or down grain. A good course that continues to add nice amenities and features. Grilled hamburgers on the beverage cart are a cool feature too.

2 hour 20 minute round of 18 holes of golf on a Sunday morning. Enough said.
Legacy Golf Links
Played On 05/09/20181 is not always the loneliest number
Played Legacy Wednesday morning before leaving town Wednesday afternoon. Starter let me go as a single as the next group was 2 golfers and 2 spectators. Had a great time taking my time and enjoying the quiet while I waited very minimally for the 3 golfers in the group ahead. Ended up playing my best round ever at Legacy. Course is a gem for quick rounds of golf, building confidence in your game, especially your short game, and for working on your putting stroke on their excellent greens. Will continue to consider Legacy my home course and play it at every opportunity.
Southland Golf & Country Club
Played On 04/29/2018Disorganized clubhouse and overbooked
Very confusing starting from the parking lot. There was a car backed up on the sidewalk right in front of the entrance to the pro shop. Can’t carry clubs inside shop and it’s a maze to find where you can place clubs. Once inside, they were unable to use their credit card machine. No wi-fi or something. Once paid, I was handed a cart key and told to pair up. Once outside at the carts there was no starter or attendant. I was a single so I asked some other golfers their tee times. There were two foursomes for the 12:20 tee time that I had also booked. I ended up pairing up with the 12:40 twosome and waited all day due to the over booking and no Marshals or rangers. The course is a great layout with some really nice holes. The greens were bumpy but rolled relatively fast. Maybe 1 out of every 10 bunkers had any sand in them, many had standing water inside them. Very pretty course with the large areas of rock everywhere reminding you there is a big mountain of stone nearby. Bottom line, this course has some really nice holes and is a fun test of golf. There was some speculation among the golfers I overheard that there had just been a management change. If money is spent on course maintenance this course could be really, really good. And the gas golf carts were great.
West Pines Golf Club
Played On 04/14/2018Great layout
First time playing this course but got paired with a guy who knew the course. I love the layout. It has very unique holes requiring thought with club selection, where to lay up, where to miss, etc. The greens rolled true and were surprisingly quick for Bermuda. The bunkering was a challenge to me as it seemed they were placed exactly where my ball would land. I can’t wait to return to West Pines for another round. The 10-12 fire ants that bit my hand on the third hole did nothing to diminish what a fun round of golf it was to play here. Can’t wait to go back!
Legacy Golf Links
Played On 04/13/2018Great greens keep me coming back
The greens are top notch. I’ve putted better at other courses this year but not on better greens. The layout suits my eye and it’s an easy round of golf. No need for a nap when you finish. There is not a better course around metro Atlanta for the money in my opinion. Keep up the good work.
Legacy Golf Links
Played On 03/28/2018Early spring 1st round
Practice areas are already in great shape coming out of winter. The course is still mostly dormant but in very good shape considering the rainy winter. Lots of course improvements happening as we played our round. Sod being laid in bare spots around cart paths, etc. the tee boxes are green and in great shape as are the greens which I think are this courses greatest feature. Love it and will play here all summer at every opportunity.
Fox Creek Golf Club
Played On 10/12/2017Great layout
This course is much more challenging than its sister course Legacy. The greens seem to have more contour and therefore putting is much more challenging. It has a nice mix of par 3s, 4s, and even a par 5. It's nice to be able to use most clubs in the bag on an executive course. Course was very wet from several days rain and some areas had standing water. All in all it's a challenging test of golf on a very nice layout. Several pins were cut into mounds/tiers in the green which made them somewhat unfair with the speed of the greens rolling so quickly. I will definitely recommend this course and will play here again soon.
Legacy Golf Links
Played On 09/30/2017Great greens, good tees, 1 bad fairway.
I love this course and have played it all summer. Whenever I am deciding where to play I think about going to other area courses that I've played and like but I always end up back here at Legacy. It's conveniently located, well priced, and a short 3 hour round of golf. The greens are the course's top feature. They are always in great condition and roll true. I must comment however on # 11 fairway. My group hit 3 shots straight down the middle and it took walking up and down the fairway 2 times to find the balls. This one hole seems to be the only neglected (bare tee box, fairway not mowed enough, very deep/fluffy Bermuda) hole on the course. Otherwise, 17 other holes are great tee to green. Top notch facility, love it. Please address #11!
John A. White Golf Course
Played On 08/05/2017Beautiful old course
Enjoyed the layout. Greens not in very good shape. #8 and #9 greens 50% sand with no grass. Rough could use a trim. Fairways and tees were good. Pace of play slow to start due to first tee program playing a few holes. Marshall allowed uso play through them after two holes and pace was good after that. I'd love to play this cours again when the greens are repaired. I loved the classical layout and the mature trees added a nice challenge to go along with the elevated greens.
I understand your frustration, we were frustrated too. We just installed a new Apple POS and hired 3 new ranger, and a starter. When you have the best greens in the area the players come out. New management and improvements have started. Play well.
