Tour 18 Dallas
Played On 02/17/2020This course has gone down hill
The course was extremely wet and soggy to the point where it seems there is a serious drainage issue. This was my third round of the long weekend and this place was years behind other courses in the area as far a drainage was concerned. I expected bunkers might be washed out in some places, but some of their bunkers were 2-3 feet deep of water...And to be honest, I can look past all of their drainage/water issues, but the greens where terrible. It was laughable how inconsistent and shoddy they were, especially since they are dormant. It's a shame because this course used to be fun to play, but now you're better off playing a $30 muni.
Keeton Park Golf Course
Played On 02/14/2016Greatest Value in Dallas
Keeton is a really fun course to play for all levels, because it has a ton of risk reward opportunities. The course is not overly long (6600 Blue, 6800 Blacks), but as you go back on the tee boxes the angles change on you. You can opt to hit driver 14 times if you want, but you better be accurate and be able to work it left, right, up, and down. If you can pull of the shot...you are left with wedges and short irons into the greens which many of are tiered and play very small. I use this strategy when I play there because, You MUST! get the ball close to the hole to make putts, because the greens are not always in the best shape.
The Bridges Golf Club
Played On 07/01/2015Felt cheated, especially after the hour driver from Dallas
Typically on GolfNow, you will get a course alert if the conditions of the course are borderline unplayable. The greens had been punched and top dressed, but it was overdone so badly that you couldn't even see the green. What you were aiming for was the bunker with a flag on it. There was so much sand on the greens that you could barley put the flag bag in the hole. 5 times we were hitting to a flag that was laying on the ground because the hole had so much sand that you couldn't even see the bottom of the cup. The only green that you could see from the club house (18) was the only one that didn't have any sand or punched.
Tangle Ridge Golf Club
Played On 06/24/2015Fun course, but needs help
Generally for a municipal golf course, it was in decent shape. The tee boxes, and greens need to be cut badly, and almost every single bunker on the course was not raked and missing a vast amount of sand. The tee box issue can be overlooked to a point, but the greens were so long that you had to pretend the hole was 10 ft farther away. Putting on my carpet at home is smoother and faster. As far as the bunkers go (there are a lot of them), my group played lift and place in them, because there were so many footprints that you couldn't even get a reasonable lie. Its a great course with an abundance of interesting holes, but some maintenance needs to be preformed by the staff and the players.
Buffalo Creek Golf Club
Played On 06/07/2014Great Course but managed poorley
Buffalo Creek is a great golf course. It is always in excellent condition, and very fun to play. However... Saturday was the third time I've been out there, and the released a scramble on me. It took 5hrs and 6 min to play 14 holes before I finally gave up as it was getting slower and slower. I have never seen a marshal on the course and every time I play there, it is always very slow. Higher handicap golfers need to learn to evaluate their game much better and play from the correct tees. People are overly concerned with yardage, they need to check the rating and slope to find the correct tees. IF YOU ARE HITTING DRIVER INTO A PAR 3, YOU'RE ON THE WRONG TEE BOX!
