Royal St. Cloud Golf Links - Red/White Course
Played On 03/26/2024Great course
If you like Links style courses, this is one that you should check out.
The course layout was nice and challenging. The wind was blowing hard when we played, so club selection became a challenge in itself.
There are several sets of tees for all skill levels and the pace of play was great.
The greens were a little slower than we preferred, but they still rolled nicely. The carts don’t have GPS on them, so knowing distances to hazards, etc. was a bit of a challenge as well. Especially when they were somewhat hidden.
It still ended up being our favorite course we played while were in town and will definitely play it again the next time we are back in town.

The course is totally different from front nine to back nine. Front nine is very tight, where the back nine is more open. Greens were in nice shape and were fast and true. Tee boxes on some holes need some attention, but overall the course is in nice shape.
Herman, behind the counter was extremely friendly and had great advice about the course. He helped set the tempo for what ended ip being an enjoyable round.
Next time I am in Orlando, I would like to take another shot at this course as it was a bit of an off day and the wind was pretty strong.
Fantastic course for a municipal course!

Second time I played this course this week. Pace of play was outstanding! Teed off just before 8 and was done by 11:30. Course is in great shape and the greens are fast and true. Worth playing if you get a chance.

I had never played this course before and am sorry I haven’t. Found a great price on GolfNow and couldn’t resist. Teed off just after 8 and was done by 11:45, so the pace of play was fantastic! The course is challenging but too much so. The greens were fast and rolled true. Fairways had recently been aerated, but they were still in very good shape and gave a lot of roll. Several selection of tee boxes so you can adjust the course to your liking. There are enough sand traps and water hazards to keep you on your toes. I would highly recommend playing this course if you get a chance. I’ve already booked my next tee time for there!
Oaks at Ft. Walton Beach Golf Club
Played On 09/08/2015Good for a quick round!
Played first thing in the morning and was done in just over 3 hours. Played the Pines the first day and Oaks the next day. The second day I was done in under 3 hours. Both courses are challenging. Oaks is tighter with smaller greens. Pines is more forgiving but longer. Both courses were recently aerated but still in decent shape. Great place to play if you want to play early and get done quick. Will definitely play again.
