Willowbrook Executive Golf Course at Willowcreek Golf Course
Played On 04/23/2022Grass coming back
The course was in predictable condition in the spring with the fairways short and growing.

Played On 01/17/2022Good first visit
My understanding is the course recently reopened and they are doing it right. The fairways were very good and you could easily hit off the dirt where rough would normally be unless you were close to the fairway. The greens were fast and consistent and many putts had to be delicately hit or they would run away from you. Next time I will know better. A snack bar should be in place in a few weeksThey indicated that more sand for traps is in the future but they were clean and consistent.
Foothills Golf Course - Executive Course
Played On 07/19/2021Consistency
In almost every occurrence I have found this course to be in good condition and this round was no different. Having played only a couple of rounds in the last few months I found Foothills to be a welcome return to golf!

Played On 04/22/2021No complaints
We arrived on time and were warmly greeted and told we would be called soon. The first thing I noticed was the good condition the practice green and practice area which gave me hope for the rest of the course. This proved to be correct and we played and had a good time. Was the course perfect, no, but we found it to play well and without problems. The greens were well cut and in consistent shape and there was enough sand in the traps to actually hit out of them. Divits were few and people seemed to clean up after themselves which I found to be a problem recently elsewhere,

Played On 01/27/2021good shape after storms
I was pleased that the course was in fairly good shape with little visible damage from the recent storms. Would recommend if possible that the fairways be permitted to grow a little as you really had to take a deep divot to get the ball into the air and no sand is on the carts.

Played On 12/07/2020rating reverse
Have been playing this course for years and they have had sprinkler problems for the last 10 at least. Puddles and wet spots were everywhere and you had to be careful not to drive into wet areas and ruin the fairway grass which was in fairly good shape. The greens were hard and fast but they ran true.
We had 5 golfers in 2 groups and zoomed around the course (3 hours 15 minutes) which was great and the people in the pro shop and card area were friendly and helpful. No beverage cart and was surprised to find they were using their drinking fountains.

Played On 12/01/2020Good day for golf
We arrived a little early and were sent off at our leisure. Was particularly impressed with the conditions of sand traps and fairways. Greens were well rolled but a little long which is to be expected in December. Finished in a little more than 3 hours and has been the case in previous visits they make you feel welcome from the pro shop thru turning in your cart.

Played On 11/21/2020good day with surprises
I arrived early and was sent right out which was wonderful. Found out that the course was cart path only which wasn't mentioned on golf now to my recollection. Once I was able to figure out the green speed all went well. Fairways looked good so i am sure they will have the 90 degree rule soon.
Foothills Golf Course - Championship 18 Course
Played On 06/29/2020good experience
They have adapted well to the virus and checkin went smoothly, Went off on time and found the course was in excellent shape from tee thru greens. As is usually the case at Foothills the 4th added to our group was great to play with.
Wigwam Resort - Red Course
Played On 04/28/2020Good day
Arrived on a very hot day to find a nice crowd keeping their distance. With 100+ heat predicted all still came and were rewarded if they brought water. The course is forgiving but you must stay away from the base of the giant pines where many have bark/needle/mulch areas from side to side. On this day the course was mowed short and one could take advantage of the roll and the greens were fast, true and consistent. Our 3-some finished in about 3 hours which was great. Good times for our first visit here.
Arizona Traditions Golf Club
Played On 04/21/2020good and speedy golf
Started on time at 12:23 and found the course in good condition, especially considering the Covit 19 situation. Our 3-some was paired with a single and we all played at our average or better and finished in 3 hours 5 minutes. They even had sand in the traps although most of the folks in front of us didn't try to smooth them out without having rakes.
Coyote Lakes Golf Club
Played On 03/06/2020Mostly positive
As is often the case at this time of year the greens were fuzzy but playable and the fairways were in good shape. With our late start we were only able to finish 16 holes for 2 obvious reasons. First of all balls would lay only 10 yards apart and yet the players would wait until the cart mate hit and then ride the short distance instead of both getting out at the same time.
Then on the back nine we hit a 5-some (never seen at Coyote Lakes) and followed them for a few holes until they broke off on 16 to play 12 thru 16 a second time. A player's assistant would have been nice! Overall a good experience.

Played On 03/02/2020Lucked out on weather
We arrived at the course with a threat of storms and it cleared up. Don't know if this was the reason but we (a 4 some) finished in 3.5 hours. The greens were in good shape although a little slow during the growth season and if you could keep you ball in the fairway the conditions were great. As an added treat they recently added more sand to the traps, YEAH!.
Tres Rios Golf Course at Estrella Mountain Park
Played On 02/17/2020I had hope
It has been some time since I played Tres Rios and when I found the tee time and a 3 star rating I hoped to have a good time. Unfortunately the greens were bad shape and the better fairways could only make up a little bit. Adding to the problem is that we played only 15 holes in 4 hours and had to cut our round short for early evening activities. The other members of the group made the round very livable.
Hi, we appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We are going to pass on your review to the teams in charge so they can work to make changes. Thanks for visiting Tres Rios Golf Course at Estrella Mountain Park. We hope to see you again in the future.
Hillcrest Golf Club at Sun City West
Played On 02/06/2020Lets bring back strong marshals
Hillcrest has made a great effort to upgrade the course but those playing it need some etiquette refreshers. The greens were firm but true but were suffering from unrepaired ball marks. I probably fixed more than 20 and I don't make them with my low shots.
And then there are the traps. I found the traps with the most sand I have seen at Hillcrest in many years and it was a welcome experience to be able to hit a real sand shot. At the same time in the 5 traps I hit, golfers left at least a dozen sets of footprints with rakes right there. Hillcrest thank you for the effort and golfers, stop considering only yourself and think of the group behind you! This was my first lesson when I started to caddie and play 75 years ago!
Riverview Golf Course
Played On 12/17/2019some difficulty experienced
When I initially tried to make a reservation I got error messages although spaces were shown to be available. I called golf now the next morning and was able to use this method to get a spot.
When I arrived at the course I was told that the Golf Now folks were told no slots were available. They squeezed me in. Yeah Riverview!
As for the golf, once again I was impressed by the condition of the traps at this course (in 6 in 18 holes). They have an abundance of sand, a rarity for this area. Although the greens were very fast they were in excellent shape and putted very true.
Union Hills Golf & Country Club
Played On 12/10/2019Couse is in very good shape
From the great welcome in the pro shop thru the front nine everything moved quickly and the fairways were particularly nice. The greens took some getting used to since they were much slower here than they usually are. When we got to the back nine we found that they had put a two-some in front of us for the second straight round and things seemed to slow down dramatically. Te two-some kept up with the group in front of them but we played in 1:35 minutes on the front and 2:20 on the back. The ranger tried but asked us to continue to be patient.
Coyote Lakes Golf Club
Played On 12/02/2019God day for golf
Sent off in a timely fashion and found the course to be in pretty good condition, especially considering the recent heavy rain. The sand traps seem have been softened but still need more sand. Other than that all was good.
Riverview Golf Course
Played On 11/30/2019Much improved
I noticed the improvement in the sand traps since I last played the course. They seemed to have loosened the sand so it is more playable. Of course being in 5 improved my chances of rating them. The weather improved as did the golf and am looking forwarding to my next round here.

Played On 11/06/2019Mixed review
The fairways and greens were in good shape but if you were in many of rough areas there was no grass. Even when there was grass in the rough it was cut so short you were playing off dirt. Also when the course was completely redone I immensely enjoyed the sand in the sand traps. Would suggest you take an effort to once again heavily rake the sand to make it more playable.
Thanks for the great review!
