Looks are deceiving

Don't let the water you see in pictures scare you. The water doesn't come into play all that much and it is a fairly easy course with a pretty simple layout.
Course was in pretty good condition when we played. Fairways and greens were in good shape. However, some of the tees were pretty rough and the bunkers were in bad shape. The bunkers I found had little sand what were full of rocks.

Good course near the city.

Both courses are always in good shape and the practice facility is fantastic. The bunkers, especially the green side bunkers, could use more sand. But otherwise the course was a pleasure to play.

Course in decline

In the last few years this course has been on a rapid decline. From the friendliness of the management staff to the quality of the course, everything about this course has been on the decline. It is not worth the time (expect a 5+ hour round on the weekend), not worth the money ($40 greens fee when bunkers, tee boxes, and greens are all in need of work), or hassle (better customer service needed from entire management staff). There are plenty of other courses in the area at this price point that are better worth your time and money.

Good course for a good value

The two nines play a bit differently with the front being more links style and the back with more target golf. The course was is really good condition when we played and with the GolfNow rate it was a great value. I recommend this course to anyone in the area.

Great links layout with challenging holes.

As a links course this course is a nice change to the other courses in the area. Course was in great condition the day I played and greens rolled very true. Really enjoyed the round and recommend it to anyone who has not played it.

The definition of a target golf course.

The Arboretum Club is a great value with the GolfNow discount. This course is the definition of a target golf course. Conditions for early spring were very good. I hope get play here more often.

Extremely Slow!!

For a Park District course, George Dunn is very nice. The course is in good condition and has some really good holes. However, the play at George Dunn is so extremely slow I won’t be going back. Management puts way too many people on the course. When I played tee times were every 6 minutes causing bad overcrowding. On several occasions there were four foursomes on or waiting to play one hole. Not to mention they don’t have enough carts for the number of groups they allow to play the course. Our round ended up being close to 6 hours long, which is just unacceptable.
