Providence Golf Club
Played On 02/10/2021Awesome course
Spectacular greens, champion level, a touch slow, but pure. Great layout, scenery, feel. The vibe is all golf, which is nice. I would absolutely play here again, given the opportunity. Thanks kindly. Rich

Looks good from a distance. It's not. Greens, fairways, rough, all sketchy, bad lies, etc. You could tell it would be great, but someone forgot something along the way. Respect the game, the course, the people.
Also, GN can bite it. Wholly regret signing up with these people. Won't make that mistake again.
Mill Pond Golf Course
Played On 05/27/2020Good course, straightforward for the most part, bunkers are not so great
Title says it all. Pebbles, some golf ball sized, (yikes!) in the bunkers end up on the greens. Make certain you have sand under your ball and clear away the rocks. Shouldn't have to do that, but well, there it is....Landscaping required on the greens as a result. Nice!? Not so much. Otherwise, tees, fairways and greens were nice. Putts rolled true, fairways were in nice shape, all in all, not terrible. I don't believe we have a broom iron in the bag, Maybe we could carry an electric sweeper? LOL Have fun, stay safe out there!
Pine Ridge Golf Club
Played On 09/30/2019Conditions have deteriorated steadily this year
Generally I enjoy playing this course, back tees, it can be a bit challenging on quite a few holes. Noticeable deterioration of conditions this past year. Aerated greens are taking well over a month to recover. Of course, this makes it impossible to score and or save par, though they still have a bit of pace to them, I like Fast greens .
Tee boxes and Fairways again have deteriorated over the course of the season. Pace of play of course is hit or miss depending on what's going on in front of you. Skipping a hole or two is par for the course of late..
This is a great track that is enjoyable to play. Hopefully they get their act together going into next season. I will not be visiting again this season

Played On 05/09/2019Seriously? 9 holes, 3.5 hours
My title says it all. Greens were bumpy and long in the tooth, hairy. Looks good from a distance, until you get close. Yikes!!!
North Ridge Golf Club
Played On 09/10/2016Not bad for a quick 9
Overall - OK
Carts are gas - loud and unresponsive
Course is somewhat tight - lots of trees, very pretty.
Grounds were well taken care of, but that might be due to 1/3 of the course being roped off, as in NO Carts.
Lots of construction going on - new homes, very sloppy looking outside of the course
Fairways and greens were nice. Some blind shots, a little course knowledge is always helpful. Found it easy enough, but I was hitting it straight that particular day. LOL
For a quick -2 hour round, I was by myself, it was more than do-able. I can imagine it will take longer with a group and more people on the course, but not that day (thank you very much).
Greens rolled pretty true. Could be a touch faster. I found very tricky little breaks that needed a close read.
So, if you have tunnel vision, pretty. If you're looking around, not so much. I heard it was an 18 hole track, making room for home building. It looks like it, but the course itself, not too bad. Have fun.
The Champions Club at Summerfield
Played On 03/26/2015Friendliest Staff, awesome people, awesome place
Excellent! If I summed it up like that, sweet and simple, you'd get it. But, the people there were amazingly kind, patient and gracious. I was a bit late for my time, but they figured it out without blinking. The ladies inside the clubhouse were sweet, very kind. The head pro was a true gent. The course was great, well maintained, fast and true greens, fast and firm fairways. Place was being maintained while we played, but they always stopped and let you play your shot. Very impressed. This is how it should be everywhere. They understand that you took the time to grace their facility. It seems that they get it. Highly recommended if you are in the area. Very pretty too once you're out there. Rich Sayage

Great course, interesting holes, lies and visuals. Greens were pure if a touch slow, but no worries. You'll have a lot of fun.
Great Rock Golf Club
Played On 10/13/2014Fast Greens makes for a slippery slope
A course like this makes you appreciate a good putter with soft hands. They were lightning, re-teaching me to be super soft in the hands. It was a good lesson. By the 4th hole I was good to go. From there, precise clubs, knowing when to club down, using the slopes of the fairways to your advantage, all came into play. The course has so much character, elevated tees, beautiful scenery, sloping fairways and greens. It really was a treat to play her again, after a year away. The course was in excellent condition, especially for one played so much. She deserves to be treated well. It's an excellent layout, a great piece of land, one that I'm glad was resurrected from it's closing early in 2014. Go enjoy and fix your divots and ball marks, people!
Pine Hills Country Club
Played On 10/10/2014Nice course, played, but nice
I had a good time with 3 other guys I paired up with, all could play a bit. Pace of play was superb. Course is played a bit, so I have to say it was in pretty good condition all things considered. They've already done their aeration and dressing , where the course is coming along nicely. She can be challenging if you don't know where to club down off the tee. A few blind shots. Nothing crazy. Greens were moving at a good pace, so care needs to be taken with short game and putting. In all a good time in mid-October. Brisk conditions, a little overcast, and we had some fun. Overall, an enjoyable round.
Stonebridge Golf Links & Country Club
Played On 10/02/2014Good Course, too bad the back 9 is a circus show on the greens
Nice little course. Easily played with long irons, hybrids and irons. Fairways could have shorter grass for nice runs on shots. There were issues, concerning pace of play and then the greens, especially on the back 9.
Pace of play issues: The course actually played fine, but it could play quicker. Roping off 75-100 yards of fairway before the greens does not allow for ease and quickness of play. There were numerous times my playing partners, double digit handicappers, were not making their approaches and had to walk back to their shots from the green and then back to the green. This could take 3-5 minutes additional time, easily. I understand protecting the areas around the greens, but 100 yards of it? Not reasonable, and short-sighted.
Greens: Circus show. That's what I remember thinking when I hit the back 9. I get the usage of upper and lower tiers, but the severity and the number of tiers on one green? You have to see it to believe it. Number 10, 11 and 12, and then a few others going to 18. At first glance, you say, hey, this is pretty cool. It gets tired real fast. I enjoyed the front 9. Fair and interesting. There was one hole, I think 16, where there is an actual spine, looks like a whale's back running vertically thru the green. Miss to one side, and you have this ridiculous putt over a severe and sharp mound that will run away from the hole no matter what you do. When you see it, you'll understand.
If not for these 2 issues, I would give this course excellent marks. I found it otherwise interesting, with some character. She was a little played, fairways and greens, but given her usage, in pretty good condition.
Play it to say you did so, but I'll wager you won't be eager to go back any time soon.
Sandpiper at Spring Lake Golf Club
Played On 09/24/2014Walked off ...slow play...no management on course
1st nine holes took almost 3 hours on a Wednesday late AM tee time? Seriously? Impossible to play with any rhythm. Walked off after 9 holes. No one attempted to control pace of play. Just pack 'em in, put 'em on, and collect your greens fees and cart fees. Nice. First time I've been, last time I'll be.
Regulation Eighteen at Smithtown Landing Golf Club
Played On 5/7/2013Not bad, good value, interesting holes, shortish, small greens
Quite a few blind shots, no directional bias from the tees. A 200 - 150-100 stake in the middle of the fairway would be helpful. Small greens, some cool contours, interesting holes in general. As a whole, it was okay. I wouldn't rush up there to go play, but a decent outlet in a pinch. Rich
Willow Creek Golf & Country Club
Played On 10/15/2012Very pretty, fairly challenging
Nicely maintained, staff a bit of a problem. Tee times not adhered to while starter was just shooting people off without regard to pace of play or grouping 4 at a time. Thus, 2 -3 -4 -2-3 player groups going out meaning wait wait wait. Seriously, a good club knows how group players. Otherwise, nice greens, fast and true, tight fairways, long bunkers :-) Not for less than capable players
