I have played this public course (closest to my house) many times. I am sad because this course has so much potential, but they are not even keeping up with basic maintenance. They have increased the price (explanation due to inflation), but they have effectively priced themselves out of the market. The cart path is horrible, I have never seen such dangerous conditions… it’s been years and they refuse to do anything about it. Like I sad, just sad.

First time playing here (on vacation), but the course, staff, and amenities were all outstanding. From the parking lot onward, I was treated with fantastic customer service, complimentary and well manicured practice facilities, outstanding course conditions, and a fun layout. The front 9 was easier than the back nine, but I thoroughly enjoyed the entire round. I am not a local, but if I was, this would be “my local course”. I will be back again. Keep up the great work!

Second time playing here. It’s a bit of a drive for me, but it’s worth it. I really enjoy playing this course. Besides a few bunkers that need some sand, the conditions were fantastic! The greens roll true, the fairways and second cut were in great shape, and it offers a decent challenge for all skill levels without being overly complicated. A great value and course layout. I will be back for sure.

This is my second time playing the course on vacation. This is one of the few valley courses in North Georgia and is a hidden gem of a course. The greens were absolutely perfect; the best I’ve ever played at a public course (and it’s only April). I wish this course was near where I lived in Atlanta - I would become a member in a heart beat! The course, staff, conditions, practice facilities, and pace of play is absolutely unbelievable for the price! Keep up the great work. See you soon!

I have played Royal Lakes a few times, and I think it is one of the best courses in north metro Atlanta area. The course conditions were in fantastic condition; the greens are some of the best I’ve played this year! This is a challenging course with lots of variety; some easy, open holes and some tough ones! I view this as a good mental game course (you have to pick your shots wisely and know your yardages well). Don’t be afraid to lay-up and you will usually be rewarded for it. Stay out of the rough during the fall (lost a few balls that I couldn’t find). I will definitely return often and play here. Keep up the great work!

I have played here 3 times and have thoroughly enjoyed it each time. The course is in good condition, and considering the pace of play and layout, it is a great value. I choose to walk (push cart) for the exercise; it’s a very flat course. If you’re looking for a quick sub 3 hour round, there is no better place in metro Atlanta!

I have played here each year on vacation (4 times total) in June of ‘18 and ‘19. For the money, this is a fair course at a fair value. Fairways are in good condition. Greens are a little slow, but getting better each year. The tee boxes still need some TLC, but all are playable. Overall, there is nothing to complain about for the price and age of the course. If you want a relaxing, scenic and decent place to play, don’t hesitate. Otherwise, spend an extra $50 and play in pristine conditions on the Destin peninsula. You definitely get what you pay for in Destin, but this is a true little gem for the $$$.

First time guest on vacation. As an older club, I thought this was an excellent value and course layout for mid-high handicaps that are looking for decent conditions and forgiving fairways. The greens were a little “fluffy” and slow with all the rain, some sand traps were a little compacted, and the cart paths do show their age, but I have absolutely zero complaints for the price and overall experience! Staff was exceptionally friendly and treated me like a VIP. Highly recommended if you are looking for a fun, casual round of golf (at a friendly place) in the Destin area without paying ‘tourist prices’. If you want pristine conditions, you’re going to need to pay three times the amount of Bluewater Bay. They have done a great job in keeping this older course in good order for the casual golfer.

I’ve played numerous courses (primarily through charity tournaments) all over Atlanta and North Georgia and I think Chicopee Woods is one of best values and best kept secrets in the greater Atlanta area. The staff, the layout and the conditions are all exceptional for the price of admission. They put a lot of hard work in maintaining these courses in excellent fashion year round. First rate practice amenities as well. Staff is super friendly and the PGA Certified Instructor is awesome! This is my new “home course” (and I live 30 minutes away)!
