I play all over the Orlando area and Deer island is by far the most manicured and picturesque course to play. Every hole is an adventure and it is not an “easy” course depending on which tees that you play. The course is a drive to get to but well worth the trip. The popularity of the course has increased immensely, so if you are looking for a quick round, I would suggest an early am tee time.

Every year we have a tournament booked at Wedgefield in December. Its over an hour drive from where I live as well. Last two years you could see the improvements being made. This year though, huge difference, manicured top notch conditions! Kudos to the owner and staff because I would have to say its well worth the drive now from what it was 3 years ago! Its always been a great layout, very enjoyable track but the conditions now match what it used to be.

The course is in the best condition that I have played it since living in Fl. Fairways are plush and you can tell that the greens crew has put alot of time to smooth out fairway to cart path areas. Greens are always pretty fast and good shape. Occasional sand crane issue but cannot fault the course staff for natural habitant. For the price, its a must play course and very underestimated on the radar of central Florida courses.

First time playing after renovations. It’s always an enjoyable course to play and a bit different with the new greens. Greens are much larger and run very nicely. The biggest change is hole 18, much different layout. A few of the greens are designed close to water and you need to be careful on approach shots. I think the degree of difficulty is higher than old layout.

What a difference in a years time. I can believe how well the new greens and how well maintained the course is. Staff was very friendly and very accommodating. I will be back and spread the word!

Right now this course is in very nice shape from tee to green. It was aerated 3 weeks ago and has come back nicely. If you end up off the fairway, you might be challenged, but other than that it’s a great rate for a course that has stepped it up in course conditions. The restaurant has been a pleasant surprise as well, with new manager who has definitely put his own stamp on the service, quality and ambience of the food service.

I have not played Mayfair in years and was pleasantly surprised at all the changes. You can tell that Sanford has committed to bringing this course back to its best. I have always loved the layout anyway but years back it was not a place to play unless you wanted an inexpensive alternative with fair conditions. I have to say that from tee to green, it’s an all new experience. All greens except for 12th, were in excellent condition, tee boxes and fairways were fine, new cart paths were nice addition. I hope that they keep going in the new direction to give us a new destination course to play in this area!

The new White Heron is probably the best keep secret in the Orlando area. I had not played there in years and the new ownership has gone all out to bring this course into easily being a top destination course. They are working on a practice facility, so just a putting green is available now. That was the only drawback I can see. Greens are nice, fairways nice, landscaping is remarkable. Brand new carts with luxury seats. Bring lots of balls because water comes into play a lot! You can see they are still working on many things, so keep up the great work!

Pleasantly surprised on the layout of the course. They staff was very friendly and helpful. You can tell that they are working hard to get the course into shape( older reviews were very suspect of course conditions) tee boxes, fairways and greens have been maintained and seem to be continuing to work in the course. Pricing is very fair and I think it can become a great destination affordable ,golf course.

I had not played course for 15 years and then read reviews over the past years. The new ownership is doing a great job with improvements! New greens are wonderful. Just a few bare spots and cart paths to address and it will be a top notch destination course in the near future. Staff is very helpful and friendly too.

I haven't played here in months and after their new irrigation system you can see the improvement! Every green was really pretty nice and rolled true. It's worth checking out again

No frills, member owned course with lots of character. It's in ok shape, slow , small greens. Pace of play was within four hours, but a lot of 2somes that could be paired up. There are a lot of holes that are blind shots,up hill, down hill and very tight layout. It's a classic challenging layout.

This course keeps getting better and better! The new ownership is concentrating on keeping course conditions in great shape, well manicured. Pace of play was spot on as well. It may be off the beaten path but well worth the drive! New shorter women's tees make it much more women friendly than the longer ones from a few years ago.

Much improved conditions from last time I played here( 6 months ago) lots of new signage and all bunkers were well raked and maintained. Greens were in nice shape and speed was good. Restaurant food was excellent as well. Easy to get to off 429.

This course is always in spectacular shape. Played on a Sun am in 3hours 40 min. At 7:30. It was a bit foggy with blind shots to start, but by 5th hole we could see where the ball was landing. It's the type of course you need to play a few times to play it well. Definately a placement course. Worth the drive to check it out.

We were pleasantly surprised at the course and the price. Many other Orlando courses are in terrible shape or the ones in great shape are very pricey. This course was the best of both worlds, staff was very nice and tee time was on time and 4 hour round. Great experience!
