Crescent Pointe Golf Club
Played On 02/15/2021Back 9 should have been closed
There was so much standing water in the fairways on the back 9, it was impossible to play. We quit on hole 13. They should have kept the back 9 closed and let you play the front 9 twice. Won't be back.
Crescent Pointe Golf Club
Played On 02/11/2015Very playable course
Course was very playable. The ability to reach the green using a mid-iron or lower gives the average golfer an opportunity to makes some pars and birdies. Greens were in excellent condition and really tough to read and putt. That's what makes this course such a challenge. Need to play it one or two times to develop some local knowledge.
Rock Barn Golf and Spa - Jones Course
Played On 06/20/2014Play this course and you will see why the Champions Tour plays here.
Greens pristine and rolled true. Fairways without a blemish. The rough was punishing. Everything you would want in a five star golf course.
Cleghorn Golf & Sports Club
Played On 03/10/2014Shot makers course
Cleghorn's layout is one of the best in WNC. It makes you target your shots. Fairways and greens are bermuda and have the dormant winter brown. Looking forward to playing in late spring when the fairways are green and the greens are freshly cut.
Cherokee Valley Course and Club
Played On 10/23/2013Well maintained throughout, from Tee Box through the Green. If you like target golf, you will love this course!
Cherokee Valley is a well maintained golf course that challenges you to put the ball in a specific location if you want to score. Missing the target, area can be penalizing.
Long Bay Club
Played On 8/13/2013Typical Nicklaus course: Long, undulating greens, all well maintained and in excellent condition
If you don't like to be challenged by a golf course you should stay away from Long Bay. Long, with large undulating greens makes for a challenging round. A real joy to play.
Broadmoor Golf Links
Played On 8/8/2013Flat Florida style course with lots of water. Greens are good, fairways and tee boxes are average at best.
Course was very wet due to an above average amount of rain. In spite of all the moisture the greens were cut and rolled true. Fairways and tee boxes were average at best. Some of this could be due to unusual amount of rain that the course has received in the past 14-28 days. Even though it is flat, you have to play target golf. Where your balls ends up is more important than how far you can hit it. For example, on #4, a par 5, good course management says leave the driver in the bag.
The Omni Grove Park Inn
Played On 5/22/2013This Donald Ross Course is a masterpiece in pristine condition
You will not play a more interesting and challenging course than this Donald Ross Masterpiece. Greens are at least 12 on the stimpmeter, with bent fairways that are immaculate.
Fairways and greens in great shape. Tee Boxes a little rough.
High Vista is a challenging course where you need to play target golf on many of the holes. When you miss the target, penalties can be severe. Condition of fairways and greens is excellent. Tees were a little on the rough side.
South/North at Etowah Valley Country Club & Golf Lodge
Played On 4/1/2013Greens Excellent
Bermuda Fairways just starting to green up. the Greens themselves were in excellent condition. Very challenging course.
Reems Creek Golf Course
Played On 03/18/2013Fast greens and tough pin placeements
Greens are fast and true. First cut outside of greens is clumpy, ball will sit between two clumps of grass making chipping difficult. Sand traps range from very good to poor.
Old South Golf Links
Played On 2/11/2013great course
Old South is a challenging but fair golf course. Greens are excellent conditions and roll true.
Rose Hill Golf Club
Played On 2/5/2013Great Layoout

Hilton Head National Golf Club
Played On 2/4/2013Very enjoyable course to play
Nice fairways and excellent greens. The kind of course you can enjoy playing every day.
Golden Bear Golf Club at Indigo Run
Played On 1/13/2013Typical Nicklaus golf course, long and challenging. Great Greens.
This course is a typical Jack Nicklaus designed course. It is long and the holes are challenging. The really nice thing about the Golden Bear Golf Club at Indigo Run was that the greens were in excellent condition; much better than I have seen them in years. A really great value for such a memorable experience.
