Great Weekend getaway course

Let me start out buy saying that after playing two shots in the left bunker, I hate the opening hole!

Now that's out of the way, I would recommend this course to anybody. It is pretty expensive but you can get a 2-for-1 pass at the beginning of the year and play the other course, Le Geant, during the same weekend.

First nine is mainly flat was the second nine is very mountainy. Conditions were great even though it rained from 1st to 4th hole. No sign of flood water on the course. It will definitively challenge you, but it plays fair.

DO NOT PLAY HERE

I used to love this golf course. 13th is quite possibly my favorite golf hole in the world. I used to play here at often as I could. The rates are pretty cheap for the nice layout they have going.

But that was all in the past, they do not invest anymore money in this course (and that for the last 3 years). They already started demolishing the par 3 (down to 6 hole instead of 18) and I wonder when they will do the same to the par 72.

Tee off were longs and not cut, fairways were decent but the greens were the worst part of the day. I started my round with a stimp of about 7 and I'm pretty sure it dropped to 6 by the end. They were long, uneven and showed obvious wear and tear from lack of maintenance.

To top it off, my group was cut by 4 employees (clearly wearing their work clothes), while we were ordering food at the 9 1/2, who jumped in front of us at the 10th. They just drove right from 18th green to 10th tee because they wanted to play and didn't even cared that we were there. What a lack of respect.

Worth the drive

This course is a little ways outside the island of Montreal, but it's worth it.

I used to play here a lot about 10 years ago and my memories were of a public course that was ''Meh''. My opinion has changed over my last round. Conditions were perfect (and it had rained the day before), perfect greens, perfect fairways. Don't expect a very hard course, but expect a very well kept course. They have white sand in the traps which gives it a wonderful view

Great for beginners to advances players. Would definitively play again!

Give it a second try

The main complaint with the Ireland Course is that it is too tough (I had the complaint for a while).

They've tone down the difficulty in the past years :

-5th is now a Par 5
-They mowed a lot of fescue, giving more bailouts.
-Made some greens wider

Don't get me wrong, it is still a hard golf course where accuracy in a premium. But, you will always find it in the best shape (I played my last round 5 hours after a storm and the course was 95% by the time the round started)

Large putting green, large chipping green, large range (off mat for non-members)

I am actually becoming a member here since I liked the new changes.

A little expensive during peak weekend hours, but worth the price.

For Beginners Only

If you play golf more than 2 rounds a year, stay away from this course. A very easy layout combined with poor conditions (I will admit that they are getting better, but they don't justify the 65$ fee for a round and a cart at 12:30 that they charge)

They have mats on the driving range, a very small practice green and a chipping green that is not cut at all (chipping from rough to rough)

I got a deal for rounds at 30$ with cart and I am considering selling them. This is a not a golf course for anyone except beginners.

A great semi-private with good discounts in the afternoon

Located about 20 minutes from the east end of Montreal, worth the detour. I suggest playing at 3:00 when the rates drop to 28$.

Challenging golf course, very narrow on the back nine. Greens are VERY undulated all around and fast. They have a pretty decent chipping green.

Cons : 11 and 14 Green are renovated greens, not the same grass as all other greens (a lot slower)

Driving range in only 200 Yards or Lees

Captain Obvious here: Play this course

This was not the first time I played the Stadium course, but the first since they made the changes.

You must play this course. In the 11 courses I played in the Pheonix area, it ranks a very very close second to Quintero (which is out of this world).

This round will hurt your wallet, but it is worth it. World class range, world class layout, world class conditions. I played from the tips, shot an 80 and was still happy with my round. 14th is one of the toughest hole I played ever.

Do not hesitate to play here

PLAY! THIS! COURSE!

By far one of the best courses I have played in my life.
Greens were so fast but also so true, an absolute challenge. Expect a lot of elevation changes.

A must play, would definitively play here again. Worth the drive (an hour) from Scottsdale.
