It’s fine

Course is in good shape, pretty straight forward. There is a ten dollar fee if you’re concerned about contracting covid and don’t want to ride with a complete stranger. Guy who works the pro shop, I think his name is Paul, is one of the most unfriendly people I’ve ever had the misfortune of encountering.
Course is in decent shape but the bunkers aren’t at all manicured. I only play here when The Preserve is booked.

Pack a lunch

I usually eat before I play but didn’t today, opting for a protein shake on my way out the door. Called in at the tee box on 9 (it’s essentially 3 9-hole courses) and was told they didn’t have any food. On a Saturday. At 1130. I was so hungry I had to bail on my round. The woman who answered the phone seemed like that was perfectly normal and also that I should have known that? Very rude. Shame because the course seemed to play long and challenging.
I’d bring a sandwich with you lol.

Great Course!

Well laid out and very scenic with immaculate landscaping. Some long par 3’s and par fives that seem shorter if you can get your drive on the other side of the hill that separates most holes. Very birdie and eagle friendly! I played on a monday with my wife so it was pretty wide open. Speaking of - she LOVED the lady’s tee placements! With most courses they’re an afterthought, but they really made it so our drives were a lot closer together on the second shot than normal. Only beer and whisky (lol) and no mixers beside coke products, but that was fine. Really love this course!!

Nice layout

This is a nice, challenging course. Traps and pin placement are shrewd, I found myself landing in more traps than usual. Third round here, and it’s WIDE open, nobody out there at 930 on a sunday morning, got a full round in in 2 1/2 hours, only had to play through two twosomes. I really liked this course. Its in a county with draconian liquor laws, so no drink on the turn. Nice carts and good neighborhood in which to play. I’ll be back, a round or two away from shooting low 80’s (shot an 87 from the member tees).

Cobblestone

Course was playing pretty wet, lots of fresh sod and spots on the fairways that disappear balls. No cart path was annoying but it was playing pretty wet. Traps were unhittable. Carts were in disrepair - first one had terrible alignment and had to get turned in and the second one’s e-brake pedal barely worked, had to mash it in. Super annoying the starter over a loud speaker screaming the groups and you can hear it all over the course - started broadcasting during my backswing multiple times. Marshall\ranger was nice but we were reprimanded for going two feet off the path to go around someone.
Overall course was fine, not too hard or challenging, wide fairways, although Im not sure management realizes this is a pretty basic course for how seriously they take themselves.

Smoke Rise

This course is on a rock surface, so everything is super hard underneath - fairways, greens and teeboxes. Tough to make a divot and at times had teouble getting a tee into the ground. Hit a nice drive on 10 that rocketed up in the air and bounced past the dog leg. Greens and fairways are also not in particularly good shape, exposed clay and brown spots, but that’s probably because of the soil and geological features. That being said, I did like the layout - very hilly and given the hard surface balls roll forever. When I hit the greens - which were recently aerated - ball doesnt even leave a mark, so you have to play them pretty short. Chipping is pretty hard given that. Decent course and not super expensive, but still a pretty tough hang. Five par fives and five par threes which played long from the gold tees. Had fun, played relatively well (shot an 88) given it took some time to make changes due to the hard surfaces/fast greens.

No Marshall, big problem

So this is a nice course, i think. Aesthetically, looks a bit more like an HOA suburb and the holes are right on top of each other. The 10th and 11th holes are littered with range balls because the range literally hits into them. Pace of play was a disaster, and i had the group before us hit into us repeatedly - while still on the fairway and when on the green, and they weren’t blind shots; marshall didnt care, and they were uber aggressive about it.
Pretty challenging course, but its tough to get going because the wait between shots was so long, and none of the golfers remotely tried to pick up the play, and nobody was telling them to, either.
This is a nice-ish course, but very poorly managed. The bar consists of five whiskeys - three bourbons, a scotch, Canadian and Tennessee and literally no other types of liquor. Three different beer types, and no coolers allowed or provided - just a cheap grocery bag full of half melted ice, my beers were warm already, and hot by the turn.
Maybe I caught them on a bad day, but it doesnt make me want to play here again.

Fairly challenging course from the blues, have great hole layouts. Gas carts get up the hills really well. Staff is super kind and helpful, range balls are 6 bucks. Pretty unforgiving if you’re not on the green/fairway, some narrow openings but overall doable. Fun coarse overall! Doesnt come back to the clubhouse on the turn, but you’re greeted at 11 with a doozy of a par five! Great course!
