Country Club of Gwinnett
Played On 12/04/2023Firm and fast greens
Greens were firm and very fast with a lot of run out. Course was in good condition as long as you stay in the fairways. Rough areas and around the edges of the cart path had a lot of wash out. Cart paths are cement, and quite bumpy where tree roots have pushed up sections of concrete creating a very bumpy ride. You have to really pay attention to avoid tearing up the suspension on the golf carts. Overall, it was a very enjoyable round and I will play the course again. Maintenance team has done a good job keeping the fairways, bunkers and greens in good condition.

This course was designed many years ago by Arnold Palmer. He would be proud of how the city of Conyers has managed this course since taking it over from private ownership a few years ago. You will be hard pressed to find a.public course in better shape than this one. From tee to green, this course is in excellent condition. Greens are large and very fast when you're on the high side of the hole. Regardless of how you score, it will.be a treat to play. One word of caution, some of the low lying holes can get very soggy after significant rain.
Hello and thank you for your 5-star rating! We're delighted you enjoyed your round. Please book another round with us soon, and thanks for choosing Cherokee Run Golf Club!

One of the few courses around with quality bent grass greens. If you like putting on bent grass you will like this course. Course is always well maintained. There are a few low lying holes that get soggy after a rain. Many of the fairways run parallel which makes it more forgiving if you hit an errant tee shot. Pace of play can be a little slow if you get behind a member fivesome! There is no Marshall on course to monitor pace of play.

Played On 10/14/2020A pleasant surprise
I had not played this course in several years because I had always considered it a second rats course. I booked it because my brother had not played in a while and wanted to play a less challenging course. And the hot deal price was the best I could find for a early morning tee time. I was pleasantly surprised with the condition of the course. The fairways, greens and bunkers were all in great shape. The greens were a.little slow early but quickened as.the sun dried them out. Cartpaths need some work but that didn't bother me. The one big negative, if you like to hit balls on the practice range before you play, is there is NO practice range. One other negative is there is no starter. We had a foresome and let three twosome's play through. The course was crowded and twosomes should have been combined. I can live without the practice range and I will play here again soon.

Played On 12/16/2019Challenging track but always fun to play.
Greens were in excellent condition. Cart path only due to recent rain. Course doesn’t take rain well due to granite underneath and low lying areas. We moved up from the blue tees to the greens (white) because there was no rollout off the tees.

Played On 09/18/2017The other Stone Mountain course
This course is on the south side of mountain, less than 5 miles outside of Stone Mountain State Park. It has seen it's ups and downs since opening in the early 80's, but I have never seen it in better shape. If you just want to play 18, and don't mind the absence of a 19th hole, this is the best deal in town.

The superintendent has done a remarkable job of bringing this course back to life over the past few years. The greens are some of the best around. One of the best deals in Atlanta! Will definitely play again.

I've played this course many times over the years and this is the best shape I've ever seen it in. The greens were a little thin, but fast and rolled true. I will go back again soon. No a real challenging course but enjoyable.
Hey "dragons1975" thank you so much for the 5* review! We appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review and we hope to see you soon!
Monroe Golf & Country Club
Played On 08/19/2015Course is very forgiving.
Maximum use of land with a lot of fairways running parallel to each other. So, the penalty for missing a fairway off the tee is minima,l unless you're on one of the outside perimeter holes. Greens are bentgrass and were pretty scarred from golfers not repairing their ball marks! A few greens have bare spots around the edges, but that's to be expected with the heat we've had recently. Overall, it was an enjoyable round.

Played On 10/10/2014Tight fairways, great greens.
Course was in excellent shape and it was a great value. Bent grass greens were a little slow and a few were top dressed with sand, but they rolled true. Overall, I was very pleased with the layout and condition of the course. I will definitely go back. Cart path only, so be prepared to walk a hilly course.
