Played On 12/30/2017A much more improved courese. Very fast greens. The course shows no signs of the previous challenges it has faced. A very successful come back.
Waldorf Astoria Golf Club
Played On 12/23/2017Still my favorite course. Enough difficulty to bring me to near-frustration with my game yet fair enough to reward my occassional good shot.
Excellently maintained and true greens.
Florida wildlife present for the viewing pleasure of the astute observer.
Would love to break 100 here soon.
Friendly staff.
The Groves Golf and Country Club
Played On 6/30/2013Short Course but, do not be fooled.
This course is short. I play the course often and promise myself each time that I would play the course as it presents. I'm not quite there yet. The brevity of the course makes it tempting to go for the green on every short par 4. That temptation is why the course owns everyone who plays it.
The course demands discipline in order to position the tee shot perfectly and make for a good second shot. I am not yet that disciplined.
It is a great course to play when one is pressed for time.
Fellow golfers are polite and tend to let the kid-in-a-hurry play through.
There is no shortage of advice from everyone trying to fix your swing, including residents who intermittently pop out and talk to you.
A lovely course to just enjoy golf and community.
Of course there is plenty of wildlife (read gators); after all, this is Florida.
Plantation Palms Golf Club
Played On 4/4/2013Bring every part of your game. Be ready to enjoy yourself.
Challenging course. I just started golfing regularly again after a 2-3 year hiatus. This course tested every part of my rusty game. Sand traps played true. The greens were quite fast and also played as they read. The course required the use of the full range of my clubs including the dreaded driver. I tend to rely on my irons but could not get by with just them on this course. Definitely a fun course to play.
The course design is quite intersting since there are sufficient variations in landscape to provide for a pleasant round even though the course is built into a residential community. The are also multiple beautiful views of the local wildlife.
Oh and by the way, I may be biased because I probably played my finest golf on this course. Nevertheless the course itself is a lovely place to play a round of golf.
