We unfortunately went out the day after a downpour and the course reflected the very wet conditions . Look forward to playing the course again with better weather !

We played this course for the first time in many years . It was a wonderful surprise, much like Hartford's well documented Keney park revival. New Britain has a well managed and cared for gem.

We played the white course in under 2 hours. The course was in good shape. We then went to the Blue course where we had a solo playing in front of us and he apparently had paid for two rounds because he was hitting a minimum of 2 balls. The threesome in front of him was also .slow so no point in a confrontation.The pace on the back was slow and hence the average rating. The greens were also recently aerated which would have been nice to discuss ( maybe go to the red course)?

After multiple days of rain we played this course. The grounds crew was very apparent cutting and taking york rakes to the bunkers. They were not a constant distraction because they went against the direction of play. It did not take away from a challenging course we would love to play again.,

Very good Golfnow deal and nice course,definitely worth it

The weather was picture perfect and very much appreciated. The pace of play was the only blemish on the day. The Blue course was closed down so a increase in traffic on the other two was to be expected. All in all a good deal and good conditions.

The courses were in good shape for the end of July. The pace of play was not great but that was probably due to the Blue course being closed off. All oin all a nice day at a nice course

Very nice municipal course friemdly approachable staff and good comditions overall a gpod experience

The course is still suffering from neglect the greens that were not being attacked by fungus were good. However at a low price it was not bad , there are no facilities open for food or beverage s so pack a lunch!

Enjoyed a nice chilly day the fairways were clear of leaves the greens were in respectable condition although this golfer wishes ball strikes on greens were repaired by the golfers that did them .

Good staff we went out behind a slow foursome but we wound up doing the back nine at our own pace. It is a tight layout hence the title . Good value for money and very nice people there as members and staff.

We went back to Gillette again, we wanted to try it again. The course was seriously overbooked and once again there was no action taken by the course to remedy pace of play. It is a great course but book before noon and maybe look over the number of cars before you go in?

We went out as a twosome and the course added a single with us. He was a good golfer and a nice guy. We immediately were told the course did not have carts available and there was a delay in times. This can happen anywhere. We were behind a group that was slow but they had a group in front of them that was unbelievably slow. We were not invited, or able, to play through. In the New England October a 1:40 starting time should not yet be an issue, however we had were not able to get to the turn until 3 hours later. There was no possible way we would be able to get the rest of the round in. The staff was friendly but firm in that we had booked through Golfnow and thus would not get the pass the group behind us received .Frustrating afternoon at a nice course.

The greens were recently aerated . This is not surprising but not mentioning it was the reason for an average rating on the conditions. Putting was made even trickier by the aerations. This is a very plain clubhouse amneities will not keep you there, trust me .

Good conditions and a great staff. . The pace of play was omay but no ranger and no on course amenities. Didn't take away from a fine course experience

A wonderfully quirky and challenging course with something for every part of a complete game. Long ball hitters and those with a great short game will have something for both of them. It plays fast, is rarely busy, and has wonderful staff. If you are in the area take the time to get to know it

I enjoy the scenery and surroundings on this course. We are usually able to get tee times within a day or two. There is a challenge for every level of golfer.

The tees showed some use, the greens were good, unfortunately so were the traps. The staff was friendly and helpful. Fairways are a good mix for all styles, some long par fours, several short threes. Good mix. The layout is kind of quirky but the direction sheet we received from the staff was helpful. You will need it, make sure and get it.

This course had surprisingly good greens, the fairways were average. I am saying this in the context of a public course. The staff was fine, the course was not crowded, there were leaves but no debris in the roughs. I would say it is a good course with some unusual tees but the average golfer will enjoy it

Started off on the white course in a threesome behind 2 ladies. They made good time but we were fairly sure they got lost on the course. Did not see them after the 3rd. The course was in excellent shape from the tee boxes to the greens. Personally I did not see any island greens but only played the white. Very friendly staff and great condition .
