Shadow Hills Golf Club
Played On 02/23/2018Very good golf
I will play this course again and recommend it. Excellent course for average handicap, fairways fairly wide, greens true, course in good condition. All bunkers have real sand at good depth - something I haven't found in the valley at this price range. Pace of play was exceptional - we finished in 3.5 hours.
Firecliff at Desert Willow Golf Resort
Played On 02/20/2018Good afternoon
Course is in good shape. Pace of play ok, not great but not overly slow. Landscaping is excellent. Each hole is attractive with views of the mountains, desert plants and flowers. A happy place to play golf.
Valley at Marriott's Desert Springs Resort
Played On 02/18/2018Management missing
Checked in with the starter to learn t times were behind 25 minutes. Pro Shop failed to mention this. Round took 5.5 hours. That is five and one-half plus 25 min late start. 6 hours. How can I recommend that to a friend? Course conditions excellent, staff friendly, ranger absent, too many golfers on the course. Where is management?
Palms at Marriott's Desert Springs Resort
Played On 02/17/2018Great eye appeal
2:00 tee time for nine holes, couples golf. Landscaping, mountain views, course layout and design are excellent. Staff very friendly and professional. Pace of play very good for a resort. Greens were rough/bumpy but rolled true. Other than greens I'd rate course as excellent. Very enjoyable afternoon. Recommend this course; we will play it again.
Mission Hills - Gary Player Course
Played On 02/21/2016Better than expectations
Course in better condition than we found it past two years. Very playable for our group. Teed on time and finished in 4 hours 3 minutes. Friendly staff. Will be back.
PGA WEST Greg Norman Course
Played On 02/20/20165-Star experience
First time to play Norman Course and couldn't have been better. Very attractive, in great condition, play moved smoothly. Best course we've played in the area. Will definitely play again.
PGA WEST Pete Dye Dunes Course
Played On 02/18/2016Bogged down in the Dunes
Arrived a little early for 12:18 t time to loosen up; Pro Shop said range would close in 15 min for maintenance. 10 min later bags still not on cart. Starter emphasized pace of play. We'd logged 4 hours when we finished 13. No Rangers. Maybe just a bad day for the Dunes. I don't plan to return.
Hi - I am following up on recent comments about the Dunes Course. We use the customer reviews and feedback posted on GolfNow Advisor to help us in our effort to continuously strive for improving our facility and enhance overall guest experience. We have had a couple of comments recently concerning pace of play, and I wanted to address them. There are many factors at the Dunes Course which impact our pace of play – many first time players who are unfamiliar with our Pete Dye layout. We know when we are in season and we have a lot of people who want to play our course – it is going to be slower on some days. We do monitor the pace and work with our starters and rangers to keep the play moving, and our pace of play on most days is excellent. Overall, the vast majority of people that play the Dunes are extremely happy about their experience, but we know we are not perfect – we do make mistakes and we are always striving to improve. And we do read, care and respond – thank you for your feedback - your comments are always appreciated. If you would like to follow-up, please contact Josh Ward at jward@pgawest.com.
