Nice Course and Challenging to Play

Tuckaway looks like a relatively easy course until you realize the greens are very firm and sloped to approach shots quite strategic. You’ll find this out on the very first hole. There are plenty of birdie opportunities at Tuckaway provided you hit and hold greens in regulation. Not much water to worry about but the rough was quite thick today. Fairways and greens were nicely mowed although the greens rolled pretty slow (made a 9 stempmeter). It’s a fun course to play, friendly helpful staff and offers an average to above average golfer many good opportunity to score par or better. Give Tuckaway a try .,, you’ll enjoy it.

Over Priced - Staff Unfriendly to Golfnow Customer

Wicker is an old municipal golf course that should be (and has previously been) a $10 hot deal. The staff was very unfriedly and unaccomodating to me as a golfnow customer and I've heard the same from other golfnow customers ... i.e. I was there a little early one cloudy day on a hot deal as a single and nobody wad teeing off or even waiting to tee off. The weather was overcast cloudy and rain was expected later that afternoon. Because if the weather, I didnt even expect to get 18 holes in and there were very few people playing out on the course. But because I booked a hot deal on golfnow, they wouldn't let me tee off a little early, ... the guy running this dump actually told me "we don't make any money from golfnow tee times". Totally unprofessional. As a $24 hot deal this year, I won't play Wicker anymore and I certainly won't reccomend Wicker ... because it's absolutely NO deal. In the past, I've experienced excessively long rounds due to slow play, and because there's no ranger out on the course to manage and keep slow play moving. This course has mediocre greens, crummy long bluegrass fairways, leaves and dead branches all over the course, and the worst "unplayable" bunkers (if you could call them bunkers) you'll find in NWI. There's plenty of other golfnow player friendly courses on here that are in much better playing condition and offer far better value.

Balmoral is a Top Quality Golf Course

A truely fantastic golf course. Each hole is different and very challenging. The condition of the course is always superb, and the manicured bent grass faiways and undulating greens makes it an absolute treat to play. The golf pros and staff are personable, guest friendly and helpful and the clubhouse after the round makes playing the 19th hole ... the easiest hole on the couse. I would highly recommend Balmoral Woods to any golfer. You will not be disappointed.
