Great round overall. Tees were way up, which was a surprise. Also, we got stuck behind a five some after the turn. I’ll be back but will be careful about starting time to try to avoid slow pace.

A great layout. Lots of changing elevation, water, and sloping greens. Some blind shots and well protected greens. A great layout with greens and bunkers in good condition. I will certainly play it again.

They’ve been battling green issues on the front nine for months and they are finally winning. Course looks great and things are almost back to proper top notch standards. Had a great round with two new friends in great conditions. Will be back and hope things continue to improve.

I’ve played Southhampton many times. It’s a great layout that suits my eye and my fade. The greens are rolling nicely but not too quick. Some bunkers have only thin layer of soft sand. There are some unique holes, some well protected holes, and some unique challenges. The par 3s and 5s treated me well during my round. It’s easier than nearby Cimarrone and St. John’s Golf & Country club, but still makes for a great day. They are completely rebuilding the two practice areas and driving range. So don’t expect a great warmup area yet, but by mid to late 2018 the whole experience should be top notch.

As others have noted, this is a good value if you get a Golf now hot deal and the course is not crowded. I thought the layout was fun with some challenging forced carries and somewhat elevated greens. From the white tees, two of the par 5s played long, especially into the wind. Like others, I noticed some tee boxes with long grass. My biggest complaints would be the slow greens and the muddy bunkers (likely from sprinklers with little very recent rain). If they’d cut and roll the greens and work on drainage and sand for the traps, this could be a much better place to play. The fairways were nice, and the greens held well. I’ll likely play it again, but I’d sure love to see some improvement on the greens and traps in the near future.
