Lovely course. Great value.

This is an easy but very well maintained course. Seemed to get a little backed up but we were playing as a twosome with many foursomes ahead. Fairways perfect! Nice views too. Excellent value!

Challenging ng beautiful course

Cool day in Jan so course very wet until noon. Fast undulating greens. Need good drives and accurate approaches. Paid 100 for hot deal. Not sure $130 would be good value. Enjoyed it! Good food at grill too

Amazing conditions, beautiful course

What others have said about this course is pretty much true. It is beautifully maintained (greens fast and true) and on a lovely day (upper 60's no wind) is about as perfect a round as you can get. Bayonet/Blackhorse is the best value on the peninsula. Poppy Hills, even for NCGA members had a walking rate of $75 plus another $25 for a cart. This I think is overpriced as Bayonet has better views, equally good conditions, and is just as hard. I paid $59 for a 7.40 AM tee time. Can't say enough about the quality of the course. Pace of play was good as we followed a foursome with ours and made it in about 4 hours 15 min. If you are between 10 and 18 handicap, do the white tees. It'll be more than challenging enough.

For a new course, great

Course was in great shape considering it gets 200 rounds a day. The developing is being built around the course as we played. Big open fairways. Fair, fast greens. Planting and trees starting to come in but this is not a mature course by any means. The biggest drawback is that the pace of play is average to slow and there are many traverses from some of the holes to others. Scenery was blah as a lot of homes were in various states of construction. Don't come here for scenery but for decent golf at a decent price (for Naples at least), this place is a keeper!

Slow ride to paradise

This is an amazingly beautiful and well-manicured course with combined desert and mountain landscaping. Red Mountain is an ever present view that is spectacular in many different light during the round. The only thing marring this otherwise perfect round was the very slow pace of play (projected 5 hours for 18 holes) which required us to quit about 3 holes early because of impending dark. If the pace were normal, this would be a phenomenal course.
