Lakes Golf Course at Laura Walker State Park
Played On 11/17/2023Favorite course
First time playing the course with a handicap flag and their new GPS. Wasn't happy with that. They turned off the restrictions for main play, but the restrictions remaining were too severe for a person who has trouble walking. Couldn't get close to the greens and left you having to walk up the slope to most greens. I ended up walking 2.5 miles with a flag!!!! I wouldn't have been able to play here after my accident. I could swing a club but couldn't walk that far. Need to make it more accessible. Would hate to not be able to play here anymore.

Always love playing here. Course in better condition than last time. My only complaint was with their new GPS system on the carts. I’m playing with a handicap permit right now and I asked to have the system turned off. It wasn’t at first and I had to do a lot of walking. Called at the third hole. Said it was now turned off. Still wouldn’t let me get close enough. I’m fortunate I can walk some. For others this could make the course unplayable for them. Just an advance warning if you’re planning to play there. It is a good idea to keep the course in better shape but the number of handicap players needing it turned off shouldn’t hurt it.

Mountain course at 8200'. Scenic views of Pike Peak. Course in amazing condition. Some blind shots and you better hit it straight down the middle. Even then, it could roll off the fairway. Fast greens, chip shots didn't hold and putts were quick. I wouldn't recommend trying to walk, you need to be a Billy goat on the back 9 especially. Loved the course and hope to play it again.
jonespar15, thank you for your kind words! We hope to see you again at the course very soon for another 5-star experience. Thanks for choosing Shining Mountain Golf Club.

Had played here a number of years ago and couldn't really remember the holes. Wish I had, would have been helpful to know where to hit to. The course was in great shape. They were dealing with issues on the greens from the severe winter weather. Some didn't putt as smoothly as others. They did have a lot of bunkers and you paid the price if you got in some of them. Really protected a lot of the greens. Was a Mark McCumber course and the greens were elevated. Couldn't run on, had to hit up. A typical Florida course with a few tweets. Would definitely play here again. The starter was really friendly and helpful.
Bent Creek Golf Course
Played On 08/24/2018Strange course
The course was advertised as 9 holes valley and 9 holes mountain. Unfortunately the valley was very wet and cart path only. That didn't help me liking the course. The sand in the traps was so soft and deep you actually sank down while trying to hit out. It played really long. Extra club was needed on most holes. It wasn't in bad shape, just wet so the grass hadn't been cut in spots. Very penial at times. When you survived the valley, you encountered the mountain. BLIND shots everywhere. They did give information on the score card which helped. You just didn't know where to hit. I did like the uphill and downhill to holes when you put your ball in the proper location. Was happy when the round completed. Couldn't get a beer to celebrate that. Wouldn't play it again. Did have nice scenery and mountain views.

I've played here a few times and in different conditions. The course was in the best shape yet. You need to put your ball in the correct place on some holes. There is water in play on a few. The greens were just the right speed for me. I don't like them too fast. I love the par 3's and there are 5 of them. #14 gives me fits every time I play it! Didn't partake of the grill, but it did look inviting with a fire going and a nice bar area. Will definitely play here again.

I've played this course a few times but it is still enjoyable. Not quite a typical Florida course, it does have some character. The course was in good condition. It has water, traps and carry. You need to put the ball in the right place. Although we found our tee time behind an outing, the pace of play wasn't too bad.
jonespar15, thank you for the 4-stars and feedback of our course! We hope you come back and see us again soon.
Trident Lakes Golf Club
Played On 10/22/2017Course in great shape
I've played this course many times and always love playing here. This was the first time I've played since they re-did the greens. They were in great condition. It isn't a hard course but does have a couple of challenging holes especially for a woman. I usually walk this course. There aren't any houses being on a military base, so it isn't as long to walk as most courses I walk and very flat. Play it, you'll love your time out there.

Played On 09/25/2017Course in great condition
Played this course a few times and have written a review before. Just wanted to let everyone know that the course is in great condition. Best yet. They lost some trees from Irma but you'd never know it. Still an interesting course for Florida. I find some courses dull with the flat terrain. Had water, some carries, sand traps and an almost island green. Near the airport and enjoyed watching the planes land and take off. Will play it again. Nice to find a good deal on Golfnow.

Played On 09/11/2017A course I'd like to play again
We ended up in Chapel Hill evacuating from Irma. Fortunately it wasn't raining yet so we looked for a place to play. Reading the other reviews, we settled on this course. We were told to give this course a try as they had worked hard to get it into good shape. We were so glad we listened to others advice. The course was in good shape and so much fun to play. The holes were challenging. There were elevation changes, side hill lies, you name it, they had it. Loved the par 3's. Had to place your ball in the right place or it could roll down the side hill slopes, land in well placed sand traps, or not carry the natural areas. We will play it again when in the area. Can't wait!
Little Ocmulgee At Wallace Adams Course
Played On 08/18/2017One of my favorite courses
I first played this course in 2001. I absolutely love this course. It is easy to walk too. It has sand traps, water that has to be carried on certain holes, and elevation changes. Some long holes. The par 3's are fun. A little of everything. I have never seen the course in such beautiful shape. I can't wait to play it again. You should play all the Georgia State courses if you get a chance.
Arrowhead Pointe At Lake Richard B. Russell
Played On 08/15/2017Lovely views
Since I have played here before, I was looking forward to all the holes along the lake. Unfortunately Golfnow didn't let us know that the back nine was closed the day we played. They were punching the greens. So we had to play the front twice and it isn't very exciting. Course was in good shape, even the greens, which had been punched the day before. Lots of evaluation changes and carries. At least I did see the lake once! Hope to play it again someday.
Lakewood National Golf Club - Commander Course
Played On 07/27/2017Course in great condition
Although I recommend this course and really can't say anything bad about it, I wouldn't play it again. It was in beautiful condition but I just didn't enjoy playing it. They wouldn't let you drive close enough to the greens. Since I was using the GPS on the cart, I never knew how far away I was. As a woman, I can't get on the green the same as guys do. They can get on the green further away so this probably wouldn't be an issue for them. Also there were climbs to get to the tee box for women. No steps and some didn't have openings to the forward tee areas through the plantings. You need to be very mobile playing this course. The greens were faster than I like, so putting was not fun either. You had to think about where to place your shot. My husband thought this made the course difficult too. It was a typical Florida course that tends to be boring . They did move lots of dirt to try to make mounds etc, but still a flat Florida course.
I just didn't have fun playing it. Hope others enjoy it more. Was a great value for the money.
I am confused of your comments, being a woman and have played this course 4-5 times I find it enjoyable to play. Playing all summer in Michigan, with our hills, our four tiered tee boxes on many courses, hitting over ponds hoping you can carry that 225 water
Most courses do not have GPS, so your point you never knew how far away you were from the pin, how could you not look at the GPS, also clearly marked ground yardage? That carts cannot get to close enough to the greens for you as a woman to check your yardage, but for men they can get to the green further out (they shut off carts if you get to close to certain things on the course, mainly the greens) what do you do if you have no GPS on any other course? How do you judge your yardage? You have a 15-19 handicap, so I assume you have played many different courses? There are a few climbs to get into the tee box, but I found not difficult at all, rarely I think three times in many years of golf, there was an opening to forward tees through plantings; the plantings are there for a reason; you go back to your cart off the tee box, then drive your cart down to next tees. This I really cannot grasp in a review "The greens were faster than I like, so putting was not fun either. You had to think about where to place your shot."? REALLY, is that not a big part of the game of golf? I have never played golf with anyone, that has not thought about the green, the cut of the grass, go high, go low, where is the break, is it dead on, and your husband thought the greens made the course difficult also? Did you read any reviews before you decided to play? It is a beautiful course, where you need to be able to land your ball right to set you up for the next shot, it was immaculate all the times we played. Very high end sand in the bunkers, the water hazards, either you laid up, or you better be able to carry the water. No, it does not have all the hills, the trees, etc. we have in Michigan; however, I found it far from boring, and nothing typical about it. They had a few hills beautifully landscaped, carts were wonderful, of wourse you could order food before the turn, to could GPS the drink cart girl, the rangers, and starter were very pleasant. I do have to inquire of your handicap, was that a mistake, I rarely, well I have never viewed a handicap a 15-19. It could be either a 15.2 or a 19.1, but you cannot have five strokes up or down? It was nice you enjoyed the rest of amentities of the club.
The Golf Club at North Hampton
Played On 06/11/2017Not a typical Florida course
Haven't played there in a while. They had made changes to the ladies tees. I found some of them too easy and others didn't help with how hard the hole was. There are quite a few difficult holes for all tees. Lots of water, carries and bunkers to be found. Some blind shots as well. It's a great layout with lots of interest, scenery and wildlife.
Played the front in a nice pace, but got bogged down on the back. The back does play harder. Liked the par 3's. Course in really good condition. Greens weren't too fast.
Southbridge Golf Club
Played On 11/04/2016Good location
The course is located close to historic Savannah and other courses in the area. The course was in good shape but we found it to be a bit boring, looked like so many other courses in the South. They tried to make it interesting adding elevation to the greens where they would have been flat otherwise. There were a few fun holes, but for the price we paid, not scenic or interesting enough. Would not play it again unless the price was better.
Hi, thank you for taking the time to review us. We love being a part of the Savannah community in a really great location. Sometimes you have to work with what land you have and we find the elevation changes make it a bit more interesting and we are happy you found a few fun holes. If you do decide to come back again, check out our online booking system online for discounted prices. Thanks again. Have a great day.
