Banty's Roost Golf and Country Club - Blue/Red
Played On 07/28/2021Good Hot Deal.
Played during the week, mid-day so pace of play was not an issue. The layout and general arrangement is good. Ground is hard, which makes it tough grass growing in many areas. Overall some water hazards and outbuilding need a facelift or more TLC. Generally I think things are improving from prior years. Now we need people to pick up their own trash and fix a couple ball marks as you walk around.
Woodington Lake Golf Club - Legacy Course
Played On 10/29/2020End of Season, but first time playing this track
Can't comment on pace of play, staff or off-course stuff as I played on a cool day during C19 and I had the place to myself. The course was in great shape and super friendly to play with little to no leaves in the fall. Before I left the grounds I booked a second round for next week. Fingers crossed it works out! Will play again many more times!
Westview Golf Club - Homestead/Lakeland
Played On 10/26/2020Great cours(s)
Played as a walking solo, on a cool wet fall day. Can't say to much about pace of play or staff as I didn't see anyone other than at the clubhouse area. Love this course and the fireplace they have going on fall days too.
Would be good if they opened up books for walking solos more often, and I'd go there more often.
Bloomington Downs Golf Club
Played On 08/10/2020Nice course and conditions
Second time playing, and conditions continue to be good. The course for the most part is very forgiving, wide fairways and approach shots are open. My only two criticisms would be that the course has not been measured for a rating/slope. Also the tee box selection is poor for those looking to play up. The distance from red to white is hardly fair for those looking to play forward. Easy to overlook, but just as easy to correct.
Bradford Highlands Golf Club
Played On 07/16/2020Great deal and great day
Course is setup well. Important areas are well watered and green, lesser area towards the rough and OB areas are dry and hard packed. Pipe'm down the middle and you are all set. Staff was friendly and helpful. Course was open enough to play Solo, so pace was perfect. Check-in was inside, so you have to mask up for 2 min and then you are off. When prepaid it is really not needed, but hey, mask up so we don't go back to phase 1 with no golf.
Thanks BHGC for a great afternoon!
St. Andrew's Valley Golf Club
Played On 09/23/2019Another Great Morning
Great York Region course with tons to offer. Great conditions despite being overcast and a little wet. Played from the Blues and it was a good test.
St. Andrew's Valley Golf Club
Played On 06/24/2019Great local gem
This great local gem is somewhat hidden from the must play lists in York Region, and that seems just wrong. Great challenging layout will force you to make good choices vs just playing the long ball.
Friendly staff in the clubhouse and on course.
Looking forward to playing again soon.
Shawneeki Golf Club
Played On 10/15/2018Great Fall Round
Hot deal round, on a cool fall day.
Pace of play is hard to determine as it was Monday round and I only saw a couple other groups.
Course was in great shape, only one or two holes that have leaves, the others all had evergreens. Very well taken care of, I will be back for sure.
Harbour View Golf and Country Club
Played On 11/04/2017Good Fall Golf
Good to Great golf for Nov 4th. Course conditions were good. Green are holding up very well. Leaves are all blown over to the edges or completely off into the trees. Bunkers need a little TLC to remove some rocks, but just pull it out to be safe.
Pace of play was a little slow only due to a series of 4-somes and I was playing paired up to make a double. Heads up folks, if you don't track a handicap, say away from the tips. Blue tees are not for big boys, they are for golfers that can hit the ball a distance.
Harbour View continues to be a great course to hop out of your car and start playing. I have not been beyond the check in area.
I had fun and will be back.
