Colonial Country Club
Played On 01/19/2014Greed wins out
I'd read good reviews, (other than slow play) and the price from Golfnow was excellent. I thought that if we could finish in 4 3/4 hrs, we would finish before it was too dark, even with a 1:30 tee time. When we arrived, there were people everywhere. It turns out that it was a shotgun start. Plus, we were intermingled with a member's mixed tournament. Worse, there were two groups on every tee box. After waiting on every shot, at 6:15, being dark with 3 holes to play, we quit. Selling tee times to the public, (without notice) under these conditions, by Troon Management, is an example of pure greed and a lack of customer concern.
Eagle Lakes Golf Club
Played On 01/08/2014Off the beaten track
Unless your staying in the Marco Island area, this course is way out of the way from most SW FL communities. It was in good shape but pretty wide open and uninteresting. There was a sameness to most holes such that none stick in memory. At the price there are many courses more interesting and not so far out.
Palmetto-Pine Country Club
Played On 01/06/2014Challenging layout with good conditions
The day we played was gray, cool and windy. However, the course was in really good shape and the layout is interesting and challenging, with many risk/reward decisions. So even in turtlenecks and windshirts, fun was had by all.
PGA WEST Greg Norman Course

The fairways are green and lush and set into a real desert enviroment. The geens are true and the layout is challengings. Lots of fun!
Firecliff at Desert Willow Golf Resort
Played On 3/18/2013The gem of the Coachella Valley
Firecliff is my favorite course in the valley...lush, pristine fairways, rolling but true greens. Beautiful desert landscapes and mountain vistas. LOTS of well maintained bunkers and an interesting and challenging layout for players of all skill levels.
Stoneybrook Golf Club
Played On 1/09/2013Great layout with pristine fairways
This course has a challenging layout without being punitive. Lots of water but most of the time not in play except on the worst of shots. The fairways are wide and forgiving and a good distribution of tee boxes makes it fun for all levels of players. The fairways are green and soft and beautifully maintained. The greens are large with subtle breaks but run true. My only complaint would be that, on the day we played, the pace of play was pretty slow, something over 4.5 hrs.
Championship at Saratoga Spa State Park
Played On 9/15/2012This course in fun and a good value
Located in a beautiful state park, this course has an interesting and challenging layout. It was in good shape, but suffered a little do to lots of play. Being a popular course, with lots of walkers, on a beautiful September Saturday resulted in a round close to 5 hours. With this in mind it was fun and a good value.
