First time playing this course in Hilton Head Plantation. Other reviews were quite positive and now I can agree 100%. Greens were quick and smooth, but held a shot very well. It's an older course but in great condition and can be a little challenging depending on the tees you play. Most holes are what they appear to be, so hidden hazards or tricked up in some way. Just be aware of the long fairway bunker and water hazard on the 16th hole. Pace of play seemed a little slow, but we got around in 4 hrs. Nice range and short game practice area. We will play this course again.

Love to play this course when on the island. Great condition, plenty of shade on hot sunny days. For me the greens were a little hard to read, but in great condition and rolling smoothly. Staff was very friendly and helpful with getting us off early. Pace of play was very good on front nine but slowed a bit on back nine. Still got around in less than 4 hrs. Highly recommend this course for average to better players.

We play this course every time we come to Hilton Head and it's always a good experience. Nice marsh views on several holes and some challenges as well. Back nine is more difficult for me. Greens are good, a little grainy but that is true with a lot of courses this time of year. Rough is manageable, and fairways are really good. Ball just sits up nicely. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Will be back again.

Always try to play this course when in Orlando. Great condition, moderately fast greens for the day we played (cold & wet). The only negative about this course is the pace of play. It's always slow. The ranger did what he could, but the layout sort of dictates several holes being slowdowns and the course is full of foursomes. You just have to expect a near 5 hour round on most weekend days. I do love the layout and design of the course though!

Had never played this course on previous visits to the Island. If you like tree lined fairways, perfect greens and a variety of shots to play, then this is the course for you. A typical Nicklaus design, it requires you to hit fades more often than draws, but doesn't punish you if you don't. Had some concerns that my wife wouldn't be able to play this course due to forced carries and extensive bunkering on most Nicklaus courses, but was pleasantly surprised that it is playable for high handicap women. The greens were perfect the day we played, reasonably paced, but very smooth. Overall course conditions were excellent. Will definitely make this one of our go-to courses on the Island.

Always play this course when visiting the Island and have never been disappointed. Course is in great condition every time we have played it and price is reasonable. Greens roll smoothly and speed is moderate. Pace of play can be just a bit slow at times but we still played in under 4 hours as a twosome.

We play this course when we are on Hilton Head Island. It is a fair test for all golfers and has some great views looking back towards HHI. A couple of holes require drives and second shots over marshes, but they have drop areas available also. The course is always in good condition and the greens run a moderate speed.

Good layout for all skill levels. Cart path only the day we played due to heavy rains in past few days, but the fairways drain well. Had read previous reviews about cart paths needing repairs, etc. and that is the case, but the course is in good shape. The greens are very good. They hold a shot and roll true, but not super fast. Some of the bunkers need a little work, but with all the rain lately, that may take some time. The course is not tricked up, everything is right in front of you. Would play this course again.

This was our third time playing this course over the past few years. It is always in great condition. Greens were perfect. Everything is right in front of you, nothing is hidden or tricked up. Great course for high handicappers as well as low handicappers. There are no out of bounds and all of the wooded areas are played as laterals, so play moves along at a nice pace.

Greens were punched about two weeks ago so they were a little slow, but rolled OK. Several holes are a bit of a challenge due to forced carries from the back tees (blues and golds). Fairways are reasonably sized and the rough is not a problem. The views on the holes back on the marsh are spectacular. I would recommend paying attention to the yardage book they provide at check-in. There are some small ditches that cross the fairway on a couple of holes that are in play. Would like to play this course again!
