Now with golf carts parked until further notice, it's time to stretch the legs and walk. Windy Harbor is a perfect walking course with no long distances between green and tee, apart from 9 to 10 . Carry your bag, or bring your own electric, or push/pull caddy; the club has caddies that can be rented too.

Today the challenge was there with a strong wind coming from the NW. Conditions were very much like a Scottish links course on a blowy day. I always different course conditions, it brings in other dimensions to the game.

For a NE FL course, Hidden Hills is refreshingly different from the standard flat Florida course. The hills, some long and steep, provide a much different character and challenge; don't worry, there is still plenty of well placed water and the greens are certainly highly contoured at times!

The one disappointment is that the condition could be better, but having said that, I will have no hesitation in going back for more.

As usual Windy Harbor is a great experience and value for money. However, one aspect I find below par, all too often: bunkers, they need real sand and consistency. Also, I often find myself repairing too many divots and pitch marks, I think a little education is needed for some of the golfers.

The worst feature of the course is the bunkers. They are inconsistent as to how much sand(dirt) there is in each bunker and the consistency within each bunker is poor.

Please work on this Windy!

The course is generally in great shape and fun to play. The one area of concern is bunkers. The bunkers are typically hard with little sand. This is the one area I would love to see improvement.....I'm in them often enough!
