still improving

I played this course back in May 2018 and then again in early July 2018. The difference was quite substantial. The tee boxes and fairways are now very nice and a good portion of the greens are now in nice shape. Back in May the ball bounced to the hole on most greens, now they roll and stay true to the cup. There are a few greens on the back nine that are still less than ideal however they are slowly getting better and better. Hole #15 green is still struggling. #18 has some bad spots but overall from August of 2017, when it was unplayable, this course has made tremendous strides. The $35 green fee is a deal considering the course conditions. Management is continuing to improve the course and I suspect in another few months you will see this course on par with most others in the Bluffton area. They have new carts and a spanking new clubhouse come late November or early December. The staff is top notch. Other reviews that are trashing the course must be some type of personal vendetta as they are just not true.

Getting much Better

I noticed the last review was in August of 2017. Since then the course has come under new management and has been on the upward swing. All bunkers now have new sand and some are being eliminated. The tee boxes, fairways and rough off of the fairways are in much better condition. The front nine greens are in better shape and the back nine greens are getting attention to improve them. The difference from August to now is like night and day. I agree with the August reviews, the course was a mess thanks to Brown golf. Now under Stephens Golf the course is getting a makeover. It really deserves another try.
