Had not played here since hurricane Ian. They have done a ton of work to create a good course and one of the best prices in area.. Course is fun and in great shape. T boxes fair, greens great, fairways good. All in all a really enjoyable day of golf. I’ve lived in Sarasota since 1952 and this course has had it’s ups and downs but right now it is a really great place to play!

This is not Augusta National but a fun public course that has real good greens. Fairways and half of the tee boxes are in terrible shape but it appears that they are working on it. Real dry and hard out there which gets a good roll but there are some bare patches. I simply take relief from the bare spots in the fairways as those are really ground under repair. Pace on weekend is still snowbird slow so I try to get out during the week. Always a fun round here.

This Ross “gem” is a joke. The original course, even as badly maintained as it was, was a much better course. Since it’s new the fairways and greens are in fair shape but already getting thin spots from overplayed schedule. Tee boxes are hard as cement. Course is not getting enough water. Pace of play is worse in county. Practice area is best in area. In summary-overpriced, over played, a boring design with a great practice facility. Will practice here but play elsewhere.

I’ve played the Highlands hundreds of times. The last three years were terrible. Staff is always friendly but the course had deteriorated into terrible shape. It is 98% back to being a great course. Hole six still has issues on the green but overall the course is probably one of the best public courses in the area for layout, fairways greens and amenities. Best round I’ve had here in years, well worth a play and better than most area courses.

This is just a fun place to play. Greens are firm and true and in great shape on all 18. T boxes and fairways aren’t in great shape but you can see they are working on it. I’ve played every local course and this is probably the best deal in town. There are better layouts but each of them have either lousy greens or are overpriced. To me the short game is half the score card so the greens and areas around the green are important to me. Course is firm and even though some fairways are a bit barren you get a great roll out.

After a day of light rain the ground and cart paths were not draining. When summer comes this course will be unplayable unless they pave the cart paths. As of today the course is a fun layout with wide fairways, well designed bunkers and slow but well maintained greens. The cost of a round with residents discount is 20% more than several area courses. The pace of play is so slow that if you tee off after 1:00 PM you will not be getting 18 holes in. Amenities are new and nice. Great practice and putting areas. Don’t think I’ll play here again when I can get a full round in for less money at other courses.

Greens are in pretty good shape. No frills staff and club house. Fairways are dry with a ton of bare spots, hard pack areas and look like they were watered last year. It’s been dry and the course appears to have decided that the fairways do not need water. Several of the t boxes on the front are sand lots with some hard packed crab grass. Fun but a pricey for the course conditions. Could be good just needs water.

Lived in area all my life and this course has had it’s ups and downs. Two years ago the management destroyed the courses and especially the greens. They have made progress in bringing them back. The staff is friendly, the course has a great layout, the fairways are in superb shape, the tees are in good shape and the amenities on the course of restrooms, water and ice are second to none. The rough is rough as it should be. The greens are 60% better and hopefully will get to 100% before year end. Glad to see a troubled course begin to get back on track to being an excellent place to play a round. A great deal on GN or just book online. I have no affiliation with the course just near where I live.

Greens in good shape, slow but even, fairways have some bald spots, rough varies and layout is just ok. Pace of play is generally slow but not five hour in snowbird season slow about 3.5 to 4 hours per round. At $30 per round this is the best value for the money in the area at this time. Other courses either charge way more or come close to this price but have terrible greens and/or fairways. No water and few facilities on course. This is still the best course in the area for the average player

After reading the reviews I think those writing them thought they were going off at Augusta National. I practice here all the time. It’s near the airport a bit noisy but nice people and real reasonable rates. A dozen bays with several top tracer bays. The course is a short par 3 mini course nothing special but a good warm up for wedge play. A good place for beginners to get lessons and work on their swing. Highly recommend it!

Pluses:
1 Staff is great
2 Water, ice and bathrooms at six locations along course best in Sarasota
3 Course layout is great

Minuses:
1. Greens in disrepair, sanded plugged or missing grass
2. Tee boxes hard as a rock
3. Thin grass and many under repair areas with some crab grass on fairways

Greens are rock hard and holding them is nearly impossible. Fairways are firm but have fair amounts of grass despite dry months. T boxes are in decent shape. Snowbirds are gone so pace of play is good on weekdays, midafternoon is best. Most holes on the back feed into ponds on one or more sides so accurate approaches are needed. Kinda fun par three executive course with some par fours and short fives thrown in. At $25 for 18 in afternoon’s after 3:00 I would recommend!

Fairways and T boxes have no grass. Greens in good shape but inconsistent. Could be a real fun course if they grow some grass.

Greens are in good shape and lay out is not too difficult. Getting back into the game and needing some practice rounds - this is a good course that will allow you to play a round without breaking the bank. I’m a local and of all the courses in the area this one made a comeback from two years ago. Kudos to management! Fairways and t box need water/rain lots. Hopefully soon they will fill in and this would be a great course!

Greens are in good shape. Fairways need water, who knew and t boxes would be better with some grass on them - really over played. Pace of play is always slow because course attracts a fair amount of beginners- I’ve never seen a marshal on course but perhaps that’s a good thing they aren’t ever able to improve the pace anyway. Fairways are wide but some holes require good shot placement. Fair course at a good price in SRQ overpriced market

My wife and I played 9 holes yesterday afternoon. Rate was best around on Gold Now for 9. Pace of play was good. We played as twosome. Hurricane Ian damage is still on property but kudos to the management they kept the fairways and greens in great shape. Some wet soft spots torn up by careless carts (played as ground under repair) but spots are rare. Last three holes on front are always interesting. Really good value and fun place to play.
