Laguna Seca Golf Club
Played On 10/19/2021Bang for your buck
I’ve played Laguna dozens of times and the greens were by far the best I’ve seen. They were still bumpy in places because they get so much public play by people who don’t want to pick their feet up or clean up after themselves but definitely true in places. Bunkers are playable but not really sand. Tee boxes could all be updated but again, still playable. And everything else was pretty decent this time around. The golf now rate seems pretty good until you add on the cart fee (luckily I got the hot deal that came with a cart). Still the cheapest in the area for what I think is a really fun layout. Not super long but definitely challenging.

I’ve played here many times and I enjoy the layout. Plays longer than the yardage due to elevation changes. Conditions are always questionable. This time around the tees were moved way up due to them trying to heal back portions. Greens were decent. Bumpy as expected for this course. There are a few true lines out there though.

Four stars because all the chumps that play here and don’t take care of the greens. The greens were fast and true if you got a line that didn’t have cleat marks or divots. Other than that negative, this course is perfection. Absolutely worth the drive to the middle of nowhere.

First desert golf experience and it just so happened to rain! No worries though, because the course took the water like a champ. Greens still rolled true although they were a little slow as expected. The views of the hillside and mountains are amazing. I'm a 5/6 HC and decided to play the tips. I would say not to be intimidated by the 141 slope and 7500 yards. It was definitely a challenge, but if you're hitting the ball decent, you should be able to scrape by with a good round. The club house and restaraunt are nice but nothing special. The Cobb salad was bomb!
I took a long time to decide which course I was going to play during my time in the area. My buddy said to play PGA stadium, but I read a review that someone played PGA and SilverRock and liked SilverRock better. I've never played PGA but I was definitely not disappointed with my decision!
Thank you for your review! We are thrilled that you enjoyed your round at SilverRock. We are glad that you decided to give our course a try and were not disappointed. We hope to see you back soon for your next round!

This course is in the best condition in the area (not counting the Pebble courses). It plays very short but will still challenges any level player. The greens were recently completely redone so they roll very nice. Because of how ridiculously cheap you can get on, it gets a lot of play so don't be surprised if you get stuck behind some slow play.
If your looking for a cheap, quick round or looking to boost your confidence, I highly recommend this place.
P.S. They have amazing breakfast burritos!
Dear chadacav,
Thank you for playing Yocha Dehe Golf Club! It can be frustrating when guests don't fix ball marks. We will do our part to continue to educate golfers on the importance of this. Thanks again for your review, and we will look forward to your return!
Have a great day
