Crystal Lake Golf & Country Club

One of the best courses in South Atlanta. Great layout, greens were in superb condition for this early in the year. Some hard-dry spots in most fairways but didn’t ready effect course play.
Wolf Creek Golf Course
Played On 03/16/2024One of the Best Course South of I-20
Love this course. Great layout, different look on each hole, challenging course but fun for all of golfers. Greens were in great shape, bunkers were packed from recent rain. Most tee boxes needed help (very little to no grass). Good conditions for this time of year. Conveniently located to airport for travelers. Staff was very friendly. Course was still pretty wet from rain the day before but operated with 90 degree rule.
Wolf Creek Golf Course
Played On 09/06/2023Best Greens in Town
Wolf Creek Golf Course is in terrific shape right now. The greens are on top-top shape. The Maintenance crew is constantly keeping the fairways and greens in great condition. Some of the tee boxes need a little work. Very friendly staff.
Wolf Creek Golf Course
Played On 07/27/2023Best Greens Ever
I really enjoyed my round of golf yesterday. To my surprise, the greens are in the best shape ever. I’ve been playing golf at Wolf Creek since 2005 and the greens have never been this good. I love the layout of the course. The fairways are in pretty good shape; some of the tee boxes need a lot of help (balled spots covered with sand); bunkers are well-constructed; but the greens are in unbelievable shape.

I love this course. One of the best courses south of I-20 in Atlanta. Unfortunately the course is not in great condition this week. I understand the the greens need to be aerated and the area has taken on a lot of rain over the past few week. What upsets me is when the course conditions are not properly stated online. This course had no sand in the bunkers, some were filled with water. The greens were recently aerated and were covered with sand. Had I know this, I would have went to another course. I booked on Golfnow and there was no mentioned of the aeration. Also the course was rated at 4-stars. It is at best a 3-star course today. Just wanted to alarm other golfers.
Lake Spivey Golf Club
Played On 08/20/2019Unusually Very Poor Conditions
I will start off by saying Lake Spivey is (was) one of my favorite courses in Atlanta. The course is usually in fantastic shape and the price to play is very reasonable. However, I was deeply disappointed in the condition of the course when I played it a few days ago. I only play courses that are rated 4-stars and above. Lake Spivey not only had their course rated as 4-stars, they never mentioned that the course was being aerated. And they charged the regular price to play the same 9 holes twice. I can tell you I have “never” played on greens in that bad of shape (aerated plugs, sand, lots of weeds, and most greens had large burnt-out mud spots. The 9 holes we were forced to play should have been closed. I’m now expecting the greens to recover anytime soon so my advice is to avoid playing here until you are sure what the green conditions are.

Played On 06/21/2018Terrible Management
The course management staff is an embarrassment to the sport. I arrived to the course at 7:50 for a 8:20 tee time and the gate (clubhouse) was locked. My two-some and several other players sat outside the gates of the course until the staff arrived at 8:55 to open up. A few of the other guys stated that this happens quite often. This is terrible management. The course could get more customers and improve its revenue if the owners and managers put more effort into improving its operations.
Hallwa,
First, let me apologize for your bad experience. As a nonprofit organization with a small staff, and responsibilities all over Atlanta, there are occasionally times when our opening of the facility is delayed.
If you'd like, please visit www.jawgc.com/staff/ and email our Director of Golf, identify yourself and the date on which you played, and he will reply to you with an offer in good faith.
Thank you for your patronage!

Played On 06/08/2018Outstanding Course Conditions
This course is a gem. I play this course probably 5-6 times a year. If it wasn’t so far from my home, I’ll play it 5 times more. It is one of my favorite courses in Atlanta. Although the course conditions are normall good all the time, the course is in top shape now (cudos to the greens keeper). If you haven’t played this course before, it is well-worth the drive. I highly recommend playing this course. Great layout, nice scenery, awesome shape...a must play.
Creekside Golf & Country Club
Played On 06/05/2018Good Shape
The course was in very good shape. Greens were best I’ve seen all year. Fairways in great shat. Few tee boxes needed cutting but the maintenance crew hadn’t got to them yet. Overall, great time.

Course is in the best shape I’ve seen it in all year. In competition for the best greens in Metro Atlanta. A must play course.
Lake Spivey Golf Club
Played On 05/14/2018Best Shape Ever
Lake Spivey GC is in the best shape ever. It has always been one of my favorite courses in the area, but it is about to reach a new peak. The course has a new owner and management team. The course is in tip top shape and still improving. Got some of the best greens in Metro Atlanta. The clubhouse is currently under reconstruction...in about 45 days, it’ll have a remodeled clubhouse with a brand new Resturant and workout facility. Cuzos to the new owner for all the great improvements already made and current being made. This is a must play course if you haven’t played it before or in a while.
John A. White Golf Course
Played On 12/19/2017Nice layout / poor conditions
This is a pretty nice nine hole golf course, however the condition of the greens are poor. I played the course today because it was rated 3.5 stars. I play golf all over the Atlanta area 2-3 times a week and I can tell you that this course should be rated no higher than a 1.5 stars. I understand that it’s winter time now, but course conditions still matter to golfers and should be rated accordingly.
Hallwa,
Needless to say, we had a rough winter. But here's what I can also tell you: we've plugged the greens on 8 & 9, removed some trees, have some new golf course equipment on the way AND a brand new cart fleet. 2018 looks very promising (if Mother Nature agrees of course) and we'd love if you were to come out and give us a try and see our progress.
Thanks for visiting!

Played On 08/16/2017Awesome Course
This is a must play course. The layout is great. Very interesting holes, none are alike. I can tell you that they gotta have some of the best greens in Atlanta. They are in super-super shape. Not an easy course so beginners beware. Only problem I had on the course was the rough was unbelievably thick and long. This was due to the amount of rain in the area the previous days. The course is on the east side of Atlanta but well worth the drive. One of my favorite course in Metro Atlanta.
Oak Mountain Championship Golf Course
Played On 04/28/2015A Gem
That was my 2nd time playing at Oak Mountain Golf Club. It has become one of my favorite courses in the Atlanta area, I love the layout of the course. There are some short holes, long holes, challenging holes and some less-challenging holes. The maint crew does a awesome job. The club staff was very polite and professional. Course was in great shape. Although the course seems a little farther from central Atlanta, it is well-worth the drive to play this course. I recommend that all golfers in the area play this course at least once and they will agree with my that its a Gem.
Thanks for your patience with us during the rain, we appreciate it. Also, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, and we hope you'll give us another try in the future.
