This great gem has aged very well. Just two years short of 100 years old and Donald Ross’s design has still great tough greens.

They have made some improvements to the green condition since my last visit. Don’t expect to play fast when you pay the higher price for the earliest tee times on Saturday. They start off 1 ands 10 and will not let you turn if you play fast. Was on track to finish in 2.5 hours until I had to wait on 10 for 6 groups to tee off. It’s tough when you get punished for fast play.

I have played this course at least 5 times during the last four years while visiting family in Ponta Vedra. This visit provided the worst condition of the greens I ever experienced. It definitely was worth the 65 price.

Hopefully the maintenance on the greens will improved their quality and condition going forward.

Better greens would make this a much better course.

Overall the course is in good condition compare to others I have played in the area. Only one green with spotty grass. I was able to play the ball down with reasonable lies in most all the fairways. Overall a nice morning round of golf.

The greens were not what I would consider Country Club standard, more like a cut rate muni. Their was no consistency of speed or condition. They were mostly slow and almost all of them had areas with no grass.

It appears that the original size of the greens has been reduced by stopping the mowing of what is now the first cut. Tight course with small greens made some of the holes tougher. Due to heavy rain it was cart path only, requiring additional accuracy to shorter walks. Walked 1.7 miles with the cart and trips back and forth to path.

This course needs weed killer application, fertilizer for fairways and greens.

With some TLC and chemistry this course has a lot of potential.

The layout is short but it has some challenging holes. Conditions were poor at best compared to other courses I have played in a 50 radius.

This course provides a friendly layout in good condition. The greens are small and firm. They roll true and reword a good shot and stroke.

I will definitely put this in my rotation when I visit my in-laws.

It was worth the 40 minute drive from Sandusky.. The holes by the river offered a very scenic view.

With this course cut through the marsh, I was able to see and hear birds that I don't ever get to see at the courses that I routinely play.

Nice target golf layout with plenty of trouble.

Don't even think about walking. The distance between some greens and the next tee box is long.

The new managements hard work to get this course back in shape is showing up on and around the greens. They were firm and rolled well. I noticed several trees that were marked that I hope they remove to open up a few shots.
