East/North Golf Course at The Legends of Massillon
Played On 10/08/2019Solid course
Nice course, well kept. As other reviews have said, the bunkers were kind of junk but most courses are this time of year around here. The price was more than fair for what the course was, would definitely return
Windmill Lakes Golf Club
Played On 05/29/2018One of the best
Simply one of the best courses around. Always great condition, love the GPS in the carts, and I’ve never had pace of play issues here. Highly recommend
Airport Greens Golf Course
Played On 05/26/2018Extremely short. Would only recommend for beginners
Very short course. Probably the shortest I’ve ever played. For me personally, it was too easy of a course. Would be good for players new to the game, but I think it’s priced extremely too high for what the course was. I wouldn’t pay anything more than $20-25 to play here depending on the day. The one positive I will say was that the greens were in very good shape
Raccoon Hill Golf Club
Played On 08/23/2017Decent cheap course
For the most part, course was well maintained. Only rough spots were tee boxes. Hard to beat for $19
Kent State University Golf Club
Played On 07/05/2015Same old Kent
Noticed Kent had new ownership. Called to get a price a couple weeks ago and was about $30. Thought if it was anything like the old Kent State GC, they were out of their minds. When I saw the $10 hot deal, I had to see what the new ownership had to offer. The course conditions were much nicer, but during our round, we saw a group of SEVEN!!! SEVEN!!!!! Playing.... We also saw three groups of five... This was on a Sunday... Absolutely ridiculous. They took out the water coolers every 3 holes for some reason too. I don't know how anyone could ever bring themselves to pay $30 to play this course when there are SO many courses in this area that are MUCH better and cheaper. I bid adieu to Kent State GC, for I hope that was my last round there.
Pinecrest Golf Club
Played On 05/27/2015Beautiful
Of the 4 courses we played down near Hilton Head this week, this was the best. Every hole was beautiful, open enough, but not too open. Only two complaints were that there was a 4-some in front of us who took forever and there was no ranger or anything to move them along. Also they had some junior tournament going on and if our tee time had been 30 minutes later we would have been stuck behind them all day. Beware of this. Other than that, a few greens weren't in perfect condition, but you'll be hard-pressed to find a better conditioned course for the money.
Crescent Pointe Golf Club
Played On 05/24/2015It's okay
Lots of positives and negatives. There was literally no one in front of us or behind so we played with zero rush. Some holes were in excellent condition, some in poor condition. On the website, it showed there was a GPS on the carts, and there was GPS. There wasn't even a map on the scorecard so we had no idea where trouble was. For the price, I won't be playing again. There's plenty of other courses for similar prices that have to be better than this. Maybe there's a reason there wasn't anybody in front or behind us.
The Sanctuary Golf Club
Played On 04/01/2015Too expensive for what it is.
Every year we try to play nicer courses while they're still much cheaper. We've heard how nice The Sanctuary was so when I saw that it was $29, I jumped all over it. Got a hot dog before we began, she sold me on a "meal" and got a bag of chips a little drink and it was $6. Definitely on the higher end of "hot dog meals". After we paid, the ranger pointed out everything that needed pointed out, then notified that only the senior tees were open. Nothing on their website said anything about only one tee box being open, so I'm already a little upset at this point. For the most part, the course was in good shape for early April. The greens looked terrible but rolled very true. I'm sure it's much nicer during summer, but for the money, there's plenty of other courses I'd rather play. Probably won't be back.
Oak Knolls Golf Club
Played On 03/31/2015Good condition
Good condition for March and there were groundskeepers out cleaning it even more. We were essentially the only ones on the course, for $12 you can never beat it.
Grantwood Golf Course
Played On 08/28/2014Awesome
I pass this course everyday, and finally decided to play it. Was very impressed with the course. This course was in as good as shape as you could want at the end of August. Of the courses I've played this year, it was probably second to the Quarry. Fairways were great, greens were awesome, very consistent. There were a couple bunkers holding a little bit of water. But that is the only slight negative. Would definitely come back again, especially at the $12 we got it for lol.9/10
New Albany Links Golf Club
Played On 08/25/2014Ehhh
Pluses and minuses. Course looked great and played pretty well. For probably 6/18 holes, you cant really tell which way the hole was going and there was no map on the scorecard or on the hole sign. The bunkers were in absolutely horrid condition too... Standing water, hard as a rock, impossible to even rake. The fairways were being aeirated while we were there. The people driving the machines didn't stop or move out of the way while we were hitting, kind of rude. Again, pluses and minus's. Only reason we played was because we got it for $20... Wouldn't pay anymore for it
The Quarry Golf Club
Played On 07/10/2014Beautiful course, too much for me though
First off, I only played this course because I got a good deal to play. Upon arrival, two young gentlemen came out and took out bags, put them on carts and gave us some waters. So far, a little too luxiourious for me. The carts had an excellent GPS system, but they carts turned off if you got too close to the green and would only go in reverse. That got annoying, but I guess you need that on a high end course. The course was beautiful, for mid-July, couldn't ask for more. As far as the food, a cart girl met us about every 3 holes, which is a good thing to me. The Hot Dogs at the turn were on white bread. When we were on the 18th green, another young gentlemen came out and cleaned out clubs while we were putting. Overall, great golf course, I'm just not used to the type of service we provided. I probably wouldn't come back again because of the price, but thats just me.
Windmill Lakes Golf Club
Played On 4/22/2013Great course, great course, fabulous condition
I've played at Windmill lakes multiple times over the past couple years, and it never disappoints. The staff were great, the course was absolutely beautiful, and I love the gps in the cart with the little booklet. I highly recommend this course to a moderate - good player. A little difficult for beginners, but it was worth the $25
Wonderful! Thank you so much for the great review. We are glad you had an incredible time, and we hope to see you again soon! Thanks for choosing East/South Golf Course at The Legends of Massillon.
