Magnolia Landing Golf & Country Club
Played On 03/09/2020Better than most I played this year (since March 1st)
The staff is well prepared and friendly to deal with.
I'm not a fan of practice ranges hitting over water. Putting and short game practice is good.
Course layout is challenging with water on almost every hole and some narrow fairways (but had my best score so far).
As a first time player, the difficulty was seeing the greens (all the grass is the same colour).
Fairways are easy to hit off. Tees are in good shape.
Greens are cut well but top dressing really changes the role and difficulty for putting.
Overall, will probably play it again but when there is a lot less wind.
Eagle Ridge Golf Club
Played On 03/04/2020Course in best condition
I have played a few courses around Fort Myers in the last 2 years.
While this course is probably in the best condition of those I have played, it is very difficult as there appears to be water on practically every hole,
The staff, except one starter, were very friendly and helpful.
Other than the water, my main complaint is practice facility.
If you expect to practice for a while before playing, pick another course. This one has the worst facility I have ever played on. It would be better if they just stopped offering practice.
Palmetto-Pine Country Club
Played On 03/03/2020I would say it isn't good, if you stay away
It is my preferred course in the area.
I come for March each year. I shoot in the 80s.
Just played today for first time this year.
Had an 87 with one list ball. Not bad for 75 years old.
Details : good fairways and greens (seeded}. Tees are acceptable. Staff is the best I have encountered.
You should understand I drive up to 1.5 hours to get you the course.
Nobody should drive that far. Find a closer course.
Thank you for your 5-star rating and kind review, diychas! We're glad you enjoyed your recent round, and we truly appreciate your dedication to playing our course. Please join us again soon, and thanks for choosing Palmetto-Pine Country Club!
Palmetto-Pine Country Club
Played On 03/18/2019Good practice course
I enjoyed the layout, greens and fairways.
It has practice facilities but I arrived too late to use them.
The staff were very friendly and cooperative.
I had trouble with the greens as they had fertilizer and it affected the roll.
Everything is in good shape and I am playing it again on the 20th.
My only problem is time to get there from Fort Myers Beach. Going north is very uncertain and going south takes at least 1.5 hours.
Thanks for the 4-stars and great feedback! We appreciate you choosing Palmetto-Pine Country Club and hope to have you back again soon. #PalmettoPineCC
San Carlos Golf Club
Played On 03/12/2019Good overall facility
I was advised this was not a good course. Ml
As always, you must see it to make your assessment.
This is not a complex or challenging course.
Bit I will include it in the courses I play this month.
The fairways are open and easy to hit.
The greens are large and easy to hit and in very good condition (but quite slow).
This is a good course to play, if you are handicap of 12 or more.
As I said, I will be playing it a lot this month.
Hi diychas. Thank you so much for the review. We appreciate you giving us the try, and look forward to having you back.
Eagle Ridge Golf Club
Played On 03/08/2019Good course layout.
A little expensive but a very good layout and course in good condition. Greens have strange material mixed with the grass but role is good. Marshals on the course to maintain good pace of play.
They have a net to drive balls into. $3.50 for a good sizee bucket of balls.
Thanks for leaving us a review, Chas. We look forward to seeing you again next time!
