Dove Valley Ranch Golf Club
Played On 04/08/2021Average course; above average scenery
Fairways and greens are sun-baked and hard. If you can get your ball to stop on a green, you might have a pin position in the middle of a slope, which is stupid. The course was clean and pace was good. Rental clubs were a bit beat up for $40. At $100 for an afternoon tee time, I expected a little more in terms of course conditions. It was either here or the Boulders for double the cost. I am staying at the Boulders and wishing I would have paid the $200+ to play one the really lush courses here.

Greens were almost non-existent--a little bit of grass here and there with a whole bunch of sand. It's was only a good value because I paid $9 to play 9 holes with a cart. I wouldn't pay the regular $16 to play there. Course has gotten much worse over the past three years.

Course was in very good shape except for one green (diseased?) on the back nine. Also, don't expect much from the range. I think it is mats only all the time.
The gentleman in the pro shop was helpful enough, but the starter and course marshal were incredibly rude. The starter tried to rush me off the driving range 20 minutes before my booked tee time in order to pair me with another group. I told him I still needed a few minutes on the practice green before I would be ready to play, not to mention I still had a half of a bucket of balls in front of me that I just paid for. 10 minutes later he was hovering over me on the practice green asking me if I was ready yet (still 10 minutes before my scheduled tee time). Being rushed by the starter is not a good way to start a round. I understand that a starter's job is to move things along efficiently, and had he asked me nicely if I would prefer to tee off a little early, it wouldn't have been a big deal, but his tone and demeanor were unprofessional. The course marshal for the day was just as rude.

A few greens need attention badly. Course layout is very nice--some easy holes, some challenging holes. A few scenic views.
Chateau Elan Golf Club - Chateau Course
Played On 03/09/2017Course in great shape for March
No complaints. Greens were in great shape. Rolled true and fast; slowed a bit as sun dried them out. Fairways were as good as could be expected for March. A few tee boxes were pretty worn, but nothing beyond what is to be expected for early spring/late winter golf. Played 9 holes for $15 ($20 after fees). Pretty forgiving course overall.
