Lion's Paw at Ocean Ridge Plantation
Played On 03/24/2023Horrible
It’s amazing that they charge money to play on this course. Greens were awful, mostly dirt with the mixed in weeds. The practice green has a 2x2 square of dirt on it. Putts pretty much bounce through the weeds the whole way. No chance of judging speed or break. Fairways weren’t good at all. Left after 9 holes. Save your money or find somewhere else to play. This was incredibly disappointing.
Magnolia/Dogwood at Brunswick Plantation & Golf Links
Played On 10/07/2022Course is going downhill
Played 18 in the morning with really no issues, other than the greens looking like someone was dancing on them. Tons of spike marks and the holes were scuffed up. Decided to play 18 more and the pace was absolutely atrocious. Packed it up after 9. Sick and tired of these courses overbooking. Won’t be back here for a while.
The Links At Brick Landing
Played On 04/23/2021Overpriced
Came in for a second 18 on the day. Staff was very friendly, very helpful. Tee boxes were awful for the most part, fairways were hit and miss, and the greens were pretty good. The layout is a nice change and the views on 1 and 18 were great, but for the price, this would be at the bottom of my list. Got stuck behind a group of 3 older gentlemen who were awful and wouldn’t let us play through. No quick bites to eat to go, no cart girl, and no turn.
Magnolia Greens Golf Course - Magnolia/Camellia
Played On 04/18/2019Good course
First time playing the course. I hit range balls here quite a bit, but have never played due to high prices. Course was in really good condition. Greens rolled decent, but slow with little break. Layout is very challenging, but enjoyable. Overall really good experience, but wouldn’t pay the money outside of the GolfNow price. The course is short, so be prepared to lots of wedges.
Sandpiper Bay Golf & Country Club - Sand Nine
Played On 03/30/2019Very nice
Second time playing the course. First time was just after hurricane Florence. Although really wet, course was in really good shape. This time, course was much dryer, and in even better condition. The layout is a bit challenging, but not overly challenging, and fair. Greens were receptive, but rolled very nicely. Fringe was very spongy though. Course was packed, but the starter and staff did a great job. Got paired with two others, and we thoroughly enjoyed their company. Pace was pretty good, considering how many players were on the course, but our back 9 did get pretty backed up, which was a bit frustrating. With that being said, I will definitely be back.
