I wish that the courses would tell Golf Now when the greens are sandy and full of holes. I would not have driven 45 miles to play under these conditions.

I've played Aldeen a few times each year for the past 11 years. This time, the course was in the best shape I've seen it. Had a nice conversation with Duncan Geddes, the head pro, on the fifth hole. Looking forward to the Rockford Pro-Am.

Aldeen's fairways are in very poor shape. I would say they are about 30-50% dead. There are huge brown spots all over the course. It's "winter rules" at Aldeen to find a decent lie. This course used to be a gem, but not anymore.

I played this course several times about 30 years ago. It's a great layout, although somewhat narrow in places. Lots of water. Nines have been reversed since I played here last. Wish they had left it as it was. Still, it was great to play here again.
Santa Rosa is a gem!
I was blown away by Santa Rosa Golf Club. The course is different than the other Destin area golf courses. It reminds me of golf at Lake Oconee in Georgia. The layout is exceptional. The staff if very friendly. Can't wait to play it again!
Seascape Golf Beach and Tennis

This course has lots of potential, but it lacks in upkeep. Has some interesting holes. It was probably a very nice course when it opened years ago, but needs a lot of reworking today.

Aldeen spends less and less money on the course - not in great shape anymore
I would also consider the fact that your round was played during the wettest August on record and with intense heat. There were very few courses in the Midwest that were in their normal shape last August. It's really disappointing that you would select "I would not recommend the course" all things considered. The good thing is that 110 out of 111 would recommend Aldeen and I am one of them. Keep up the great work Rockford PD!
