This is a good value course, not a destination course

While far from a fancy course, from a value perspective it's really hard to beat Huron Hills in the Ann Arbor area. The front seven are fairly flat and straightforward (spray away), in contrast to the next 11, which play shorter, hillier, and with more doglegs (accuracy matters more). Pace of play is great most of the week but can slow down on weekends because golfers of all levels enjoy this course. Conditions are okay (good greens, decent fairways, okay rough and sand), and overall good enough for the low greens fee. If you want a social round, a
round with non-serious golfers, a quick round on off hours, or just want to keep your spending down, Huron Hills is a very good choice!

A local public gem

Leslie Park is the best municipal course in the Ann Arbor area, and regularly named a top public course in Michigan. The layout is excellent and conditions are usually good as well. The entire 18 is an engaging and strategic experience - this is a course where you're often thinking about different options to get the ball in the hole (which is a big compliment). On the weekends the pace of play does get pretty slow, so keep that in mind. The course is walkable, but there are one or two hills that you'll feel in your legs. As a local, Leslie is always one of the courses I recommend to visitors to the Ann Arbor area.
