Mystic Golf Club
Played On 06/16/2016Pretty good course
Before I played the course I read the reviews and was prepared for a bad experience. Most reviews talked about forced carries and blind shots and it being an odd layout. My response to that would be you played the wrong tees or you must be a very short hitter. I'm a long hitter and I played the gold tees. I didn't find any part of the course that odd or silly and there were no more forced carries than any decent course should have. My only complaint was the guy in the proshop grinding my gears because I bought a hot deal and he gets none of the money. My response to that take yourself off of golfnow and offer some more competitive prices. Course is worth $65 max but with all of the competition out there for golf I'd be trying to play a lot cheaper than that.
The Marshes Golf Club
Played On 10/22/201220 + handicap = play somewhere else
If you are a true 20+ handicap and above you should probably choose another course. This course can really bite you. I played with 3 high handicap players and they all really struggled and lost many, many balls. 3 + dozen between the 3 of them. If you can hit the ball with some moderate accuracy and are looking to see where your game is at this is a fun course. The course is in great shape and the facilities are very top notch. I played the white tees on this day and they were great for the par 5's, just in the right spot. But on most par 4's they left you having a hard time hitting driver because the hole didnt suit a driver from the tee position. And the par 3's ended up all being the exact same distance 135 and 1 at 82. Shot 85 with 3 triples
Century Pines Golf Club
Played On 8/28/2012Nice Track
I have played Century Pines about 10 times now. I keep coming back because it is always in good condition and is usually around $30 to walk. The pace of play is never consistent here though. This is probably because of the wide variety of players that book here on golf now. The course is set up well for a smooth well paced round of golf but is just a bit to challenging for a beginner or hacker and this can lead to a very slow day there. I'd caution those type of golfers to stay away more than I would caution regular golfers not to go.
Freedom Oaks Golf Club
Played On 8/23/2012good value
Freedom Oaks has a fairly decent layout. No stupid holes and was an enjoyable round of golf. It was well looked after for the price. It is not that difficult of a track but not totally wide open either. All handicap levels should be able to improve at Freedom Oaks. I'm a count every stroke player, all putts and penalties. 20 HND shot 84 at Freedom Oaks.
Thanks for the review! We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your round. We hope to see you back again soon.
