If only...

Sand traps in horrible condition! It will be interesting to see if they get worked on when the rain subsides, but, in the current conditions i say, play somewhere else. If you have to pkay there, avoid them...if you can!

Beautiful layout with great views and immaculate fairways. Long yardage but gentle Greens.

Not worth the money for non-SF Residents...

Even though there are some stunning views of San Francisco - including the Golden Gate Bridge - along the way, this course is poorly maintained, badly supervised and, in some places, downright dangerous. This is because the cart paths are poorly marked, the public (mostly tourists) is allowed to walk near or in the way of the golf carts and in some cases in the path of flying balls - no fencing or nets - with no marshalls in site. Did I mention no driving range!!

My advise...if you really want to play within the City of San Francisco, pay more and play Presidio. At least you'll be able to enjoy a real golf course setting and not a public walking park.

While playing, we wondered whose liability would be should you hit a person walking on or near the course with an errand drive: the City, the victim or YOU?

Interesting and different

Played on a extremely windy day even by local standards and found it interesting but challenging. Beautiful views of Bodega Bay. Definitely not a starter course. Back nine much better side.

Suggestion...

No groups of five should be allowed. It slows play tremendously to where my group had to skip the final hole in order to avoid commuting traffic.

spectacular setting

Stunning views with major undulating greens in the Blackhorse course make it quite challenging for the first time player. Yet its definitely a superb layout worth the trp and the price.

By and large...

A better working kitchen/hole 9 intercom will be useful. Other than that, a great place overall.

A course in transition

Once one of the favorite places for celebrities like the rat pack, this beautiful course is currently in management limbo while the non golfing county politicians decide when will the facility be assigned a permanent semblance of what once was.

That said, the course still plays fair, requiring accurate driving and ball placement.
