Great round
Really enjoy Raptor Bay. Very pricey in season, but compared to what some of the other marginal courses get, this wasn't a bad value. Course is well manicured and beautiful. Greens were a little slow for what I would expect of a course this nice.
The National Golf & Country Club
Played On 01/25/2021Worth the trip
Nice track. In pretty good shape considering it just opened. Signage to get there is terrible. Do not use the listed address in your GPS! You will go way past the course and get lost in town. This course is a steal for the price they are charging at this time! I will be back very soon.
Stoneybrook Golf Club
Played On 01/22/2019Fun round
Enjoyed my round. At $100, price wasn't great. This is an enjoyable and challenging layout. It is a public course so the conditions are not country club level. Overall I would play again.
South/East at Spanish Wells Country Club
Played On 01/20/2019Great value
Played on a Sunday afternoon as a single. Caught up to a very slow group for about 5 holes but otherwise was the only golfer out there. This course has improved much since I last played it about five years ago. Greens are new. They are fast and true. Course was green and lush. Lots of water in play on almost every shot. Really have to be strategic to score well. For the price I paid (and then some) I would come back anytime.
The Refuge Golf Club
Played On 06/03/2017Great value
Played late on a Saturday afternoon and got through in about 3.5 hours. Was stunned at how open it was on a beautiful day. Cost was only 25 riding, which is almost free!. It was low enough to get us to come from Plymouth. I've played the refuge many times in the past, but it had been a couple years. The course was very dry compared to what I was used to there. Nothing yet burned out as we have had lots of rain but notably dry especially the fairways. They are definitely not watering enough. Outside of that it was an enjoyable round.
Stoneybrook Golf Club

I would rate as a high three star. Decent value compared to others in the area. Greens were very nice, big, and fast enough and smooth. Fairways okay. The rough was just un-maintained area for the most part, so sometimes you were hitting off of dirt. Layout was challenging, from the back two yes you often had 150 yard carries over water to get to the fairway. If you don't like that, there were multiple sets of forward tees. Pace was fine at 4pm start, about two hours for front nine. Tee times 8 minutes apart. Carts nice with GPS. Compared to other value courses I have played like Hibiscus and Arrowhead, this was a step up.
Colonial Country Club
Played On 04/27/2015Will be back
Played Colonial on a hot deal for forty bucks at the end of April. What a deal for this level of course!. Course is relatively new and trees need time to mature, but beautiful course design, landscaping, and course conditions. Not my favorite course in the area but definitely up there with the other top courses.
Hibiscus Golf Club
Played On 04/25/2015Great value if you get the right deal
Played here on a hot deal now at the end of April. Twenty bucks with a cart! That is basically free golf and a cart fee. The back nine is better designed and in better condition than the front nine. Tee boxes, especially on the front nine were long and full of clovers. Not much burnout to be found anywhere. Greens were decent. I'm told the in season price is 95. I would be very disappointed in the course had I paid that. Compares very similar to Arrowhead.
Old Corkscrew Golf Club
Played On 3/27/2013Great time
This course was the highlight of my five day golf trip to Naples area. Very nice clubhouse and welcoming area. The range is complementary and both wide and long and stacks the balls in a pyramid for you. Great putting and chipping greens complete with practice bunker and unlimited balls. The course rating from just 6200 yards is more than most quality courses from the tips. Every single hole is well thought out, challenging, and stands on its own. The property is off the beaten path, which means no highways or houses to be seen. If only they could get rid of that cell phone tower within view :) Fairways and greens were in great condition. Fairways were lush, not what I would call penalizing rough like the thick Kentucky Bluegrass I'm used to in the upper Midwest, but to be honest, who needs rough when most every missed shot either goes in the wetland or the bunker! Greens are heavily top-dressed and cut very low. I'm sure they were running in the 10-12 range. Nice and fast just the way they should be at a course of this stature. I played on a Golf Now "hot deal" for $79 on a weekday afternoon. Regular afternoon price is $100, which is still well worth it considering the competition in the area. This was easily the best bang for my buck possible in the Southwest Florida market. Now, back in Minneapolis it might be a different story. This is a very difficult, strategic type course with roller coaster greens. Truly the kind of golf courses that have and continue to be built in the modern era to offset the performance of newer equipment. If you are just an ordinary hacker, you might not want that, but if you are up to the challenge, you have to play this course!
Lely Resort Golf & Country Club - Mustang Course
Played On 3/26/2013Nice layout - not worth it if paying full price
Played the Mustang as part of a five day golf trip in Naples. Liked it better than Arrowhead and Spanish Wells, but not in the same league as Raptor Bay or Old Corkscrew. I believe I paid around $80 on a "hot deal," and believe (in Florida dollars) it was worth it for that rate. Anybody paying $170 for this course as they often charge needs to get their head checked. It is a typical resort course, fairly open layout with houses built in to the development, but generally they are at a comfortable distance from the holes. The holes are well designed and greens are fast. Overall course conditions were average and mid-level for the courses I mentioned above. Not the most "lush" course I played, there are certainly thinner areas, particularly the "rough" although that is not a fair word to use. All-in-all, a nice track for the money, just don't get caught paying full price.
South/East at Spanish Wells Country Club
Played On 3/25/2013Worth playing if you can get a decent deal
This course is often playable on sale for $90. I think that is too high for what you get. I paid $55 on a "hot deal," and found it to be very good value for my money. Range balls are included, but they are floaters that you hit into a pond. Facilities are nice. There are 27 holes, I played the East nine and the North nine. Tale of two courses. The East nine was a nice layout, only hurt by a massive powerline running the length of one hole. The North nine had a lot more foolish holes that they seemed to be just trying to jam in between the houses. Note, the entire course winds through a massive housing development, much like other Florida courses. The houses were close enough on some holes that there were literally signs posted saying "Aim left - avoid condos." It isn't difficult to hit a few houses during your round with an errant shot. Greens were very slow and not cut on the day I played. Fairways were decent, not as lush as some other courses but good for the money and far better than Arrowhead GC where I played the day before. No rough to speak of. Not sure why, but didn't find any actual penalizing rough in five days of Naples golf! This is basically just a lower class private club that needs to open to public play to make ends meet. For the most part they deliver on the country club feel as well.
Arrowhead Golf Course
Played On 3/24/2013Spend your money elsewhere
Spent five days golfing in the Naples area, Arrowhead was my first destination. Was baited by a pretty decent number rating on GolfNow, but realized myself as well as talking to others in the area that I made a mistake. I paid the "discounted" rate of $79 to play here, the same price that I was able to play Old Corkscrew for! Old Corkscrew is worth three times what Arrowhead is. Arrowhead's design if fine, nothing special at all, very similar to municipal level golf courses that I'm used to in the Minneapolis area. Note: those courses are $35. Not having played in the Naples area before, I was wondering why the grass, particularly everywhere but the greens, was so thin. Thought it might be a Florida thing. Found out it is just that Arrowhead is not a high-class place. I'd play this course again, but it would have to be for $40 bucks - which is what they should be charging.
