Long Time Favourite but....

Twin Lakes is a good course. It used to be a great course, with a great clubhouse. But they've screwed with it too much.

It used to be that you knew the price and could say to friends, "it cost $42 with a cart. Now, T.L. has got onto the Golf Now thing and you never know what you're going to pay. So the management puts on deals but hoses you for the carts. If you want to walk, you can get a good deal. I'd just like to see a couple of prices.

They sell an annual membership, but with the prices that you pay for carts on top of it, I don't find it worth it.

They have one of the nicest settings for a restaurant in the Okanagan, but they messed that up. It seems that they just can't get a cook who would like to work for 6 or 7 months of the year (their season). They messed around with this cook and that cook, who charged way too much for the food, then wondered why they didn't get the business they used to. So now they have shut down the restaurant. All they needed is good burgs and fries, a few salads and sandwiches, and a daily soup at a reasonable price and they'd be back in business. It is really sad that it is shut down. Really sad. Yes, you can get food and beverages at the turn, but it used to be really nice to have a game of golf, then stay for a nice dinner.

The course is now better than ever. They have cut down the long grass between the 3rd and 8th fairways which slowed play down somewhat. The fairways are in good shape and they've been really attentive to the greens for a few years now.

The 7th fairway along the highway is all dug up and it is now 2 par 3's with one par three development halted in the middle of work. If they spent half as much time dealing with the legalities of "moving dirt" in the ALR as they have trying to push through their real estate development, they might have had this debacle over with by now.

So the management is a little screwball and more focussed on real estate than golf course business. Overall though, its a nice course to play.

You nailed it with your review. When a server from the restaurant becomes the GM and had no clue things go south. Rates are all over the board depending on who you know and what day it is. Surprised there are any members at all because the course ONLY caters to green fee players. Condition of course is great if you can get past the pro shop BS
