This course is well designed and will reward good shots. Plenty of trees will test your accuracy, water will test your nerves and really nice greens will reward good putters. The course conditions are good across the board making it enjoyable to play. The pace of play was excellent at four hours. The staff was helpful and friendly making four first time players feel like we were at our home club. It is a scenic place in a beautiful neighborhood with excellent convenience to I-95, stores and restaurants.

Designed by Ron Garl, Continental CC is a hidden gem. It fell into a tired and overgrown old course over the years, one that I had abandoned as a choice. Well, that has all changed in the last few years now capped off by a redo of the greens. But, that is only part of the story. They have also cleared out much of the underbrush and trimmed the vast collection of established old trees and turned it into an attractive parkland course. It is attractive and playable.
Is it perfect? Heck no. But they are clearly focused on making it better without breaking the bank. They probably opened the course a month or two too early so the greens do not appear perfect. They sure are rolling well however. They had just overseeded the fairways and it was rough only throughout. Not my favorite and I would have avoided the course had I known. But, the course is fairly flat and we made it work.
With all that said, we had a beautiful day compliments of FL's weather. If you want to have a nice dinner afterward, try their restaurant but MAKE a Reservation or you won't be able to get in.

It starts with your friendly greeting in the pro shop. A wonderful pizza lunch before the round, and I really mean a wonderful pizza. They have a great pizza oven that makes a perfect 14 inch pizza. The course is in good condition and offers all the challenge you want to take on. After quite a rainy spell the course was firm and very playable. Conditions are variable in FL for a variety of reasons and this course was good for coming out of Summer maintenance.

Boone GC is always great. They get a lot of play but the course is always in great shape.

For the last ten years I have looked forward to our visit to the Boone/Banner Elk region of North Carolina. I was lucky enough to find and play Boone GC in my initial visit to the area so that I knew to make it a regular place to play. The course reminds me of my Private golf club enjoyment in all ways. The staff is wonderful and accommodating to make your experience a wonderful one. The course conditions are always top notch. The layout is playable, enjoyable and skill testing for all level golfers.

OCN is a class facility for the golfing public, Great courses for traveling players at a reasonable price, The courses will provide a fun experience for all levels of play including the very best players. I brought my entire family, and all were happy with the experience. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

I have played here over the last 10 years and there is a movement to achieve its potential. This is a fine layout that hit the skids about five years ago and it has been pulled back by new ownership. Now don’t expect Augusta National conditions but it is certainly enjoyable and playable. The layout is wonderful. A great deal of Earth has been moved around the course in preparation for a new development that will adjoin the course which should inject new life and interest in this old classic beauty.

I enjoy playing at Candler Hills because it feels like a private facility. The course is always in good condition and when the weather allows it becomes excellent. It is a solid test for your game but not so difficult that it makes you regret playing. The staff is always friendly and you'll feel like you belong there.

Stay for lunch or dinner after your round. Their recently renovated dinning room is inviting and the food is good.

We travel to Maggie Valley each September to be close to this hidden gem. It blends a. Purse a high elevation with a mountain course. The Valley course is flat and the back climbs/ de ends from mountain conditions. Generally in nice condition for a public accessible course in the mountains at a fair price.

The week after Labor Day is when they aerate the greens and damaged course areas. Today was one of those days. While the conditions were substandard today, that was offset by light play numbers so we were able to zip around in less than three hours. That is a feat.

So, try it. I think you will do what happened to me; I fell in love with the place.

Boone is a must go play place. We come to Boone each July and it is always our first choice. It is a public golf course with a private course feel. Not excessively hilly as many courses are in this area. Play it and I can almost promise yo it will become a favorite.

Bring your A game or a few dozen balls. It is a great layout that winds up with some spectacular holes down the stretch.

Conditioning was very good. Fairways and greens excellent. Rough and fringe areas a bit worn but not too bad.

I walked away in awe of the beauty of the marsh and the way a couple of holes were built into it.

My wife and I played both courses at Pinehills Golf Club in the span of three days. Both courses are great fun to play. The Nicklaus course is probably a bit easier but both are in great shape and very scenically pleasing.

You get a private club feeling even if you are not a member. The clubhouse is beautiful with a nice dining facility. There is a practice area that you can use that will allow you to warm up properly.

All aspects of the course maintenance on both courses are first class. i wish golfers would take better care of the courses but despite the beating the courses take they are maintained nicely. The greens were wonderful. The rough is tough so stay in the fairways. The design allows you room to play but missing a fairway will challenge you ability to play from a lush rough. plenty of elevation changes to make the course interesting throughout the round.

I rate the facility as very high quality

I had played Etowah a few times in the past and always liked the layout. We have always been treated nicely there and enjoyed our day.

On this trip we found the course to be with mixed conditions. Greens, terrific. Fairways on the West Course, fair; fairways on North, poor to very poor. Mixed conditions of this nature tend to cause you to overstate the poor part and forget the great part. My suggestion is to play the fairways as lift, clean and place and I think you will have a good day.

The layout is a nice one. Some holes play very long and are very challenging. others demand precision approach shots.

The staff is terrific and I am sure you will enjoy your day.

The weather is perfect. The scenery is awesome. The course is really two different themes; the front is a parkland like setting, the back is a mountain course.

The staff is terrific here. They are always friendly and they make you fell like a member at a private course. The conditions are mixed. The greens are in terrific shape. Some of the fairways had damaged spots. Not terrible but certainly noticeable.

It is a fun place to play. Well worth the fees. The scenery is memorable and keeps me going through the hot Florida Summer as I think about the anticipation of playing a fun round in perfect weather.

This is a quality facility well worth the ride and the fees they charge. I just love the way the course fits the land. The course provides enough room to play but a pretty hefty penalty if you run out of room. It will also play a bit longer than the measured yardage.

The greens seem to be where they have invested their maintenance money because they were in very good shape.

There were two other things that happened which diminished the quality of our experience. First, there were are number of places on the course where young children had adopted the course as a playground. Now I love to see kids playing but just not where they can be seriously hurt. Second, when we turned to the 10th hole thee was a one half hour backup. part of the problem was that a twosome appeared from nowhere and we were told they stopped for lunch and had returned to play the back nine.

I love the layout but this course is now off my playlist.

Orange County National is a facility that I have played and enjoyed for many years, long before the housing boom had found this part of the area. It is building up so one of the first noticeable changes is that the surrounding views are becoming more urban. But, this place was designed to satisfy the avid golfer.

Crooked Cat offers a significant challenge to even the most accomplished golfer. It plays up to 7500 yards with demanding tee shots and a few holes that will make you hit your very best approaches.

The course conditions were just average on this visit, The fairways were not their best with thin irregular Bermuda creep. The greens were grainy and did not roll particularly true. Overseeding had not yet happened so there may be some improvements coming in the next month.

Most annoying was the 5 hour round of golf. We were told that the day had started bad with the first groups and had gotten worse as the day moved on. Hmmm, I wonder if they had a plan to deal with that kind of adversity? By the end of the day our entire group was quite happy the day was over.
