Miami Springs Golf & Country Club
Played On 06/12/2018Historic course at a fair price
Miami Springs was home to the Miami Open for 30 years. Palmer and Snead are among the illustrious former winners.
Played from the (Blue) back tees, it is a fair test for mid to low handicappers and is in good nick for a course at this price-point.
The greens had recently been sanded but were still quite true. I would definitely visit again the next time I'm in America.
Miami Shores Country Club
Played On 06/11/2018Good course at a reasonable price
As an English man killing my last few days in the US (I was looking for a round or two to squeeze in after spending the week at Trump Doral), I discovered the course on the GolfNow app.
Condition or standard-wise It's no Blue Monster but to be honest, I found it just as enjoyable.
Played from the back tees it presents a slight challenge for a mid to low handicapper and there is some variation. Greens are good (not too tough to read), and the overall condition was fair.
The staff were friendly and welcoming, the food reasonably priced. If it was on a Hot Deal I would play it again (the standard green fee is too high in my opinion).
Barnham Broom Golf Club - Valley Course
Played On 05/29/2017A very good course with plenty of variety
The course is one of my favourites in the region and presents a stern test for all skill levels.
No two holes present the same challenge, and more often than not it's the cautious or sensible player who will walk away the winner.
They only issue is that it's a popular track so there is the very real danger of having to wait for holes to clear
Risebridge Golf Course
Played On 12/03/2016Always good value
One of the better courses at the lower end (price-wise), a good challenge from the tips, with some good variety between holes.
Visible signs that work is under way at present, but it hardly effects how the course is played.
Is often quite busy, which can lead to VERY slow rounds, but we went out at 10:40 on a Saturday and never saw a soul!
