Played On 10/05/2023Nice Day Overcrowding
Went out as a twosome and finished 40 minutes behind schedule. 5+ hour rounds are all too common at this course as they overbook tee times and dont enforce pace of play. It's a nice course in good condition and the staff are friendly, It's just very frustrating having to wait on every hole.
River Vale Country Club

Course closed due to lightning in the area causing completion of only 12 holes. Enjoyed what we were able to complete although storm never materialized and would have been able to finish round without incident.

5 hr round. Tee times only 6 minutes apart.
Waited 1.5 hrs after round for appetizers.
Never again.

Played on early Monday morning and at a very nice pace. Only complaint was that greens were covered with sand and fertilizer being applied to fairways during the round.

Two groups playing tournament ahead of our 3pm tee time resulted in 5hr round. Finished in the dark. Course and greens in good shape however bunkers hadn't been maintained for days.

Finished early round under 4hrs on well maintained course and was home for lunch. How golf used to be.

2hr frost delay caused chaos for starters. Starter on East course lost track of tee time order and groups were sent out based on who's names he recognized first and everyone else to the back of the line. Course needs to manage starting time better knowing frost in October is likely. Wont be returning to this course.

Round took over 6hrs. Three to four 4somes on each hole. Course Ranger stated there were 180 golfers on course at one point. Overbooked tee times made this one of the least enjoyable days on the course.

I play Crystal Springs once or twice a year, each time inviting a newcomer just to hear their expressions as drives with slight draws or fades deflect off the fairway moguls and leave unintended second and third shots into inviting greens. The course demand straight shots and precision if you hope to post a score close to your true handicap. The #2 hole on the classic side is by far one of the most scenic golf holes you will ever play. Overall a great experience.
