Sugar Isle Golf Course
Played On 10/27/2017Love this course
Sugar Isle is a very nice public course. It has a lot of character without being too difficult, and not too pricey!
It has been the go to course for our foursome when we don't feel like traveling. We have probably played this course about 15 times this year.
Turtle Creek Golf Course

Turtle Creek is one of the nicest public course that my golf group has played this year. The course is well maintained, even though we have had an abundance of rain this year. The course, for me was challenging, with plenty of mature trees and some tight dog legs. The course layout is absolutely beautiful, with rolling hills, creeks and ponds. The clubhouse was nice with the usual burgers, wings and hotdogs. They have a bar which serves alcohol for those interested.
Kittyhawk Golf Center - Hawk Course

I have watched the steady decline of City of Dayton run golf facilites over many years. I was a Dayton resident for most of my 60 years and enjoyed many pleasurable rounds of golf at all the City courses with co-workers and friends. I golf with a foursome several times a week and we wanted to go back and play what used to be our go-to course ( The Hawk ). The price is reasonable, albeit higher than most public courses. The conditions of the course however are deplorable. Weed infested uneven fairways. Greens that show little sign of maintainence besides the cutting of grass, and fairway bunkers that are miniature gravel pits. We will not be playing there in the foreseeable future, unless there are major updates.

My golf buddies try to golf a different course every week. When we can't decide, or are pressed for time, this is our go to course. Lots of charachter and close for all of our foursome. I recommend this course for anyone not anticipating a championship style course. As public courses go around the Dayton area, it isn't the best, but not far from it. IMHO.
Hit them straight, and as always use good golf etiquette!

Grass was not cut. No evidence of water on the tees or greens. All the sand traps were overgrown with weeds. It looks like they are going out of business, but are still taking money from unsuspecting golfers. I will never play this course again. It is a shame, since several years ago, this was a great course!
