The Club at Eaglebrooke
Played On 03/30/2024Greens < Their normal
Have played here several times and right now the greens are bumpy and almost crusty in appearance. Definitely not warranting over $100 to play as of right now. The rest of the course is decent but again not worth a fee over $100

Greens were lightly sanded but rolled great and had some good speed. There’s overseed out so the course looks great too. The green are maybe a touch firm but not punishing firm.
Great place to play right now

Played On 09/21/2023Greens still healing
Love the course- we drive 45 minutes to play here every once in a while. It seems likes its been 6 weeks or more since they closed for a week for work on the greens but they are far from healed. Still in repair conditions. I would have been sorely disappointed to pay $100 for a morning tee time to find the greens still bumpy. It’s a uniform bumpy if that makes sense but far from smooth putting surfaces right now. The rest of the course was great, staff was great. Nice water and ice out in the course.

Sunday afternoon round in 3 hours- unheard of. And I could hardly believe it when I checked the time coming off 18 green. The course isn’t terrible. The tee boxes are all brand new turf. The greens historically are rock hard and the new owners are taking action to rectify that. Clearly the greens have been getting water and where punched. There was a good bit of sand on them today. Was it worth $40 on a Weekend- I’d say so but understand the greens are “in process”

Played On 09/03/2023Nice but value isn’t there
2 holes completely closed. 9 others cart path only. I feel we overpaid given those facts and no warning til you show up to the course . Tees and fairways are quite shaggy… like hitting out of the semi rough on the tee.
Fun layout but honestly a $50 experience right now, at most!

Staff is always great! Green have small holes, no topdress- so be aware of that. Fairways are in good shape I thought.
The course isn’t easy- the middle holes on the back nine are no joke- we call it the devil’s armpit.
Good value

Played On 07/27/2023An adventure
You gotta know where to go, and it’s not self explanatory… but once you get to the course it did not disappoint. The Valet lot was full so we had to retreat to an auxiliary lot and ride the shuttle back to the resort center where we carried our clubs a few hundred yards before reaching the cart staging area. Everyone was very kind and helpful throughout our visit. The course is in very nice shape and we played in just over 3 hours. Didn’t see much of anyone out on the course mid morning on a weekday. Would definitely go back and feel much more confident in navigating now that we’ve been there once. Lost lots of time in the parking scramble debacle so didn’t warm up or putt at all. It was a steal at the Hot Deal rate!

Just an FYI, no mention I’m by the course or website but the greens are very rough right now. Not aerated with holes but there are trenches and they are very grainy and sandy. They roll ok but they are very rough compared to how they were just a month or six weeks ago. Many dead spots along the collars and hole 3 green is closed.

Except for hole 2, the greens are getting better. They had been very bumpy the lst several times we played. They were smooth and had just been cut today. We were first out and played in 3 hours… otherwise the course can be quite slow

Greens have lots of grass on them and look good. One more pass with the mower and they’d be fast!
Glad to have someone like this close to home. The white tee boxes are rough so we just move around to get a decent spot. Some would be frustrated by this but the course has many other positives that outweighs the areas they’re being worked on

Played On 03/17/2022Meh
Pay a little more and you’ll get a lot more elsewhere. The greens are bordering on microscopic… I think over the years they’ve lost size by the way they’re mowed smaller and smaller. Not worth $44+
Freedom Fairways

Fun day- It's a short course so there's that, but it's an enjoyable walk. The greens have lots of grass, but they're grainy and slow. But makes putting maybe a little easier being able to not worry about them getting away from you. Playing the back tees, I could still hit to the green on several of the par 4s... so distance isn't an issue. But 2 1/4 hours to play (walking)... at minimum, you'll have a good time
Buffalo Creek Golf Course
Played On 11/14/2021Tough going
We starting on the range to get loose. The turf marked for the days use was more than 50% sand! The rest was crab grass. The course had groups of every size… single up thru foursome. Extremely slow and no one the entire day to pair people up or speed anyone along. Finally, and the reason for the review: the greens are struggling. There is no consistency in speed. They didn’t appear to have been cut in a few days. The cups edges were growing in and jagged. I don’t know- maybe I’m expecting too much… but we will give this track a rest for a while.

Great day at Eaglebrooke. Interacted with at least 4 employees and ALL were kind and friendly! An early morning weekday round and we didn't wait on a single shot. Course is a very fun layout. It was extremely wet from the rains as of late; CPO on holes 8-18, but that didn't detract from the experience. The greens are smooth and roll true, with decent speed. The greens held shots easily but were still firm under the feet. Recommend you play this course- even with our 1 hour drive it was worth it. A treat!

Great day at Rosedale… every staff person we came in contact with was pleasant. Course is in excellent shape! It’s a tight layout- a challenge. Very nice facility… highly recommend trying it out

Not sure when or if they will aerate but the greens are outstanding right now… Sunday evening round basically had the course to myself and the greens are pretty quick and smooooth- great deal at $30

The grass all over the course is overgrown! Greens are so spongy they likely can’t cut them. The holes appeared to have been there several days. 16 green looks like it’s on the verge of being lost. Sad to see today since I play lots of golf here… but things don’t look to be going in the right direction right now.
Yes the storm might have added some water BUT the course had to have been struggling even before that- despite a week of being closed for work.
Hoping it come back!!!
Sandpiper Golf Club - Lakes/Palms Course
Played On 06/10/2021Good at $10 less
The course is okay, the front nine we played (Oaks) was in moderately good shape. The greens were a little bushy and on the slow side compared to the practice greens. Most of the greens are VERY small... likely to gradually growing in over the years.
The back nine (Lakes) was a bit rough. Most of the tees playing from the back were all weeds- while the forward tees had lots of signs of play- sandy spots. Fairways are mostly weeds and intrusive grasses, not golf course grass.
Fun to get out and Play early and not have to wait at all, but at $34 plus tax.. I think we overpaid given the courses conditions.

Great layout and in good shape- Greens are just too slow and hairy.

Rocky Point Golf Course
Played On 06/16/2018Great place close to the city
Greens really surprised us... in a good way. Smooth roll and good pace. The rest of the course was so so. Good for a public course I suppose.
The layout of the course is interesting and fun- tough finishing 5 holes. Watch out cause those few ate my lunch- don’t go for 15 in two... it’s a trap. Seventeen is probably the shortest par 4 and the hardest off the tee. Take some extra time on each shot as you close out the back nine and you’ll be glad.
Zero beverage cart. Just a few waters coolers on the course and we found the most important one empty at 3pm.
No effort by the staff to pair people up so the course was covered by odd groupings of singles up to threes ones. We saw very few foursomes and the pace of play suffered as a result of that.
For $27 on a Saturday... I’d do it again!
As noted at the time of making your tee time, the course was overseeded only a day or two before. This is a necessary evil this time of year. It happens every year in November
