From what I have read the course is in much better shape than before. While that might be the case the course still has a long way to go.
The Good-State of the art carts with GPS and ability to order food. The greens were fast and ran pretty true. The bunkers were excellent with all new sand. Pace of play was good.
The Bad-Those same state of the art carts were restricted in most areas past the the middle of the fairway. they didn't just slow down they stopped and the only way to get back to where you needed was to go in reverse. Also as your cart is shown on the GPS map they can easily show other carts on the same hole. This would help as there are several blind tee shots and some you had to wait until you saw the carts at the green before you could safely tee off. I can imagine this impedes pace of play a little bit.
The greens-while fast they looked horrible, almost like thousands of pitch marks but upon closer inspection might be left over from aerating the greens but they did theirs before my home course and my home course is already back to normal.
All in all it was a fun course to play, but at $80 plus cart fee I probably won't be back.
Cypress Lakes Golf Course
Played On 03/01/2020Great deal on a little gem
Played this past Sunday and the pace of play was amazing. As a single golfer I was able to play in 2 hours as several groups waived me through.
Course was windy and had a good mix of par 4 distances although it seemed everyone around or above 400 yards played into the wind.
Par 3's were all reasonable yardages and par 5's the same.
Course conditions were good, although some rough could of been shorter as I lost 2 balls just off the fairways. Greens were in excellent shape but signs were out for aeration on 3/2 and 3/3 for each nine.
Good course, lots of wind and a decent challenge for the mid to low handicap.
Eagle Vines Golf Club
Played On 04/24/2016Blown away by Eagle Vines
What a great time at Eagle Vines, loved the layout, views and condition of the course. While it looks to be a lot of risk and reward for longer hitters the course is pretty straight forward for me.
I would of given 5 stars but I thought the course lacked sufficient yardage markers and honestly at $90 on the weekend the cart fleet is due for an upgrade...GPS maybe???
I didn't really interact with much staff but the guy at the pro shop was great at getting me set up in the right direction and my breakfast burrito was just ok and for some reason only half a burrito (should of known for $3).

What can I say about Rio??? Well when the wind blows this can be an extremely difficult course but when the weather is calm it is so much fun to play. Lots of risk and reward holes mixed in with your standard variety layout. I love the greens as they seem to always run true and on the faster side compared to the courses in my rotation.
The rough was a little long considering this course is in a retirement housing tract and should be cut to resort lengths which would also bring the trouble in to play more off the tee...I'd much rather lose my ball in the water than not being able to find it in 4-5 inch rough.
Overall this place is great, quick pace of play on the weekends and for some reason the wind likes to die down when I visit...lets hope the rough is cut and the wind is calm this Sunday when I make my monthly visit.
