Soldiers Creek Golf Club
Played On 10/12/2017Great course in the Gulf Shores area
The course, staff, and amenities were great. Definitely worth the drive when in the area. The setting is picturesque and the course has a good layout. Definitely the most laid back and best value in the Guif Shores area!
Winding Branch Golf Course
Played On 08/26/2017Average course.....
Overall, this is an average course. Clubhouse staff were friendly, as were the other golfers. Fairways and tee boxes were pretty rough in places, but the greens were in great shape. Lay out was generic, but the course is set in a scenic rural location. The course would really benefit from some oversight of a marshall. Basic etiquette is ignored with golfers driving all over the fairways (no 90 degree rule) and parking almost on the greens! Slower groups of 6-7 golfers holding up the whole course, then kamikaze groups of of regulars blasting through (each on their own cart) and skipping all over the course.....it was frustrating. I would play this course again only if it wasn't busy.
Antlers Pointe Golf Club
Played On 08/19/2017Very generic course
Had four groups waiting to go off on the front with the back wide open? I was told they weren't allowed to send groups out on the back, this ruined the pace of play. Fairways were rough, greens were good, a lot of trees need trimmed and other basic maintenance ignored. Layout is very generic, a couple of interesting holes in the middle over water. Number ten has a huge oak tree in the middle of a narrow fairway....trim the tree!! Clubhouse had a "members only" vibe.....probably won't be back.
Arrowhead Golf Course
Played On 08/05/2017Nice track, will definitely play again!
Enjoyed our round at Arrowhead. The staff were very friendly, had a nice little clubhouse, and the pace of play was good. The course was in pretty good shape, greens were a little slick and there were a couple of washed out fairways from the wet year we've had but overall very playable. The course had an interesting layout with holes that challenge low handicappers to be aggressive with some short par4's and 5's, but not overly difficult for beginners. I will definitely be back and reccomend it to friends.
Refuge Golf Club at Gulf State Park
Played On 03/15/2017Could be a great course......but the regulars are the worst ever!
The rate wasn't bad considering it is near a major tourist area. The setting is beautiful and the course wasn't in bad shape for this time of year. Fairways were pretty rough, but tee boxes and greens weren't too bad. The problem is the locals treat this course like their personal country club back home! Absolutely no courtesy in regards to pace of play, if I had it to do over, I would have forced my way through the lackadaisical pace of play by the regulars!
I should have been expecting the country club attitude, I had two locals cut in front of me without even acknowledging me while paying for my round. The bad part is the staff recognized it and seemed perfectly okay with it! Bottom line is, the regulars are jerks, be prepared to be assertive and send them a reminder that this is a very public course!
Bridge/Prairie at North Branch Golf Course
Played On 02/17/2017Enjoyable course to play!
They have a great clubhouse and lounge with friendly staff. The course has 27 holes with each 9 offering different challenges. The course is always in good shape and never seems too crowded. Overall it is a really fun course to play with good rates!
Harbor Links at Sagamore Resort
Played On 10/29/2016Picturesque course with a great lay out.
The course conditions were the best of any of the several courses I have played in SE Indiana this year. The clubhouse was well appointed and staff was friendly. This course has a great lay out with many risk-reward holes that can be very challenging, or you can lay up and play it safe! Beautiful course that I would highly recommend, definitely worth the drive if you're not from the area.
Brook Hill Golf Club
Played On 10/08/2016Enjoy playing this course.
I really enjoy playing this course, not overly challenging, but some course management is required. The greens and fairways were in pretty good shape although the paths and tee boxes could use a little work. Interesting layout with some water, elevation, and forced carries. The staff was friendly and they have a nice clubhouse. Course is scenic with rolling hills and surrounded by hardwood forest.
Pennyrile Forest State Park Resort
Played On 09/25/2016Not bad for the money
The course is located in a remote, but beautiful area. The staff was very friendly although the clubhouse didn't provide many amenities. They weren't allowed to sell beer, but didn't mind if you brought your own...(a real game saver)! The front nine was in pretty dismal shape and the layout was very generic. The back nine is beautiful with a great layout, fairways/tee boxes were lush and the greens in pretty good shape. It was like playing two different courses, the front nine not-so-great, the back nine a wonderful experience. I would go back just to play the back nine!
Mineral Mound Golf Course
Played On 09/24/2016Beautiful course!
This was a beautiful course with a great layout. They were having some trouble with the greens, but the fairways, tee boxes, and awesome layout more than made up for it! I only wish I lived closer and could play this course all the time. Great clubhouse with super friendly staff.I would definitely recommend this course to a friend.
Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park
Played On 09/23/2016Great course!
This was a great course. I wish I lived closer and could play it more often. The layout and condition of the course was great. The staff was friendly and had nice amenities. The course was challenging, but still very enjoyable for high handi cappers.
