We were excited to revisit a course that we seek to play every winter during our southern trip. We have always enjoyed our visit to The Club. The area had received on consecutive days a few days prior to our playing. Enough time had elapsed since the last rain that we anticiated play on this date would be fine. The day was overcast but plenty warm for this time of year with little to no wind.. excited we were! Upon arrival we were notified it would be cart path only... ok... however, we did not expect from hole 1 through 18 for the course to be a quagmire. I went through three pairs of socks during the round. The only spots that did not squish water when walking were the high points of any mounding near the cart paths and the highest points around any traps or bunkers.... and naturally the green surfaces. We should never have been allowed on the course... afraid to swing as you could not rely on keeping your balance. It would have been grand to have been offered another day to play. We are still in the area and a complimentary round would be grand. It is a wonderful course, just not the experience we are accustomed .

My wife and I played during a steady drizzle to rain at 8:30 AM... and were surprised how many others were on the course with us. As the round progressed, we began to see why. What fun for both of us, she a recreational golfer (shot 114) and me a senior experienced player. The course is not exceptionally long, thank goodness as it has great elevation changes for this part of the country. The course features one of Minneapolis dream 18 holes... number 12, a shorter, but very difficult hole. Play it and you will know why it is on the list. We will definitely return to play in the future because of the course layout... and it didn't hurt that the fairways and greens were in fantastic condition... just stay out of the rough, specially when it is raining!

We have played over 30 rounds since mid-January on 15 different courses including Savannah Harbor. Bear Creek's fairways were outstanding and far better than ANY course we have played this year. The greens are in super condition and rolled wonderfully. This course is narrow with small greens, medium in length, numerous doglegs and plenty of water and sand. Plenty of holes where you should, you may not, but you should give thought to club selection beginning at the tee box and through the hole... it rewards good decisions and will punish poor decisions! I play to a 7-9 handicap and find this course challenging but extremely fun. My wife, generally shoots between 110-120, does not like water or sand, yet asked as we walked off the 18th green, when are we coming back? So many courses in the HHI, SC area are in very poor condition this spring, Bear Creek is not one of them... stellar conditions! You will enjoy it. We played in just over 4 hours as a foursome so pace was good... have seen reviews that said there was some slow play... but that was not our experience on a very nice 78 degree day.

Rose Hill has the bones to be a wonderful course. Sadly in its current condition they should not be charging to play. The poor greens are in shambles and I do not believe they will ever return without them being dug up and new surfaces planted. The course is challenging... just wished the greens were not!

We have played Rose Hill over the years during our winter visits... this is the worse condition it has been in. We will not be returning for many years... which is sad, so sad.

There is new ownership with a new grand clubhouse being built so there is hope!

I like the layout of Rose Hill... fun course... played it 4-5 times early last year... Last time we played they had a fungus that infected the greens and thus we did not return. So before booking today's tee time, I called and asked specifically about the greens and was told they are in great shape. Well, not so much, 13 of the 18 are still infected and it is like playing bumper pool on them. I will not return this year. Hope they get it under control, but will wait to see future reviews confirm that it has before we return.
