Prairie Home Companion

A prairie course reclaimed from marshlands and low elevations. Well maintained with very large greens which test your putting skills and green reading. Golf carts are older, but run well enough. Very quiet and peaceful with lots of greenery. Limited pro shop. Bring your own lunch and snacks.

Have played this course 8-10 times over the years.
Mexico is in sight and the surrounding views are beautiful; a respite from the bustle of city life. This is Stewart Granger's former ranch and holds some Movieland history. Off the beaten path, fresh air, hills to climb, etc. Go and play, it is worth the drive.

Needs work.

This course is in decline. Poe Anna is taking over the greens. River sand in all the bunkers with small stones and some weeds growing, standing water in many. A lack of water on the fairways leaves hard lies on most holes with little to hit from. Course has great potential with the proper investment and management.
