Total disrespect for golf now puchasers from the moment I walked into the pro shop. ive never been treated like such an outsider in my life! They wouldnt give me a cart for the first 15 minutes after checking in. Had to go back down the hill and haul my gear back up the hill while everyone is wizzing by me in their carts.and by then the tee time was in 5 min. Also random people pull up to the first tee right on top of you, yet their tee time is after you. No starter........the guy inside finally gave me a cart. Loaded my bag, and noticed no scorecard, no cards around, had to go back into pro shop to get one. Could barely knock a few putts around with 2 minutes left. The league players roll up on 10th tee as your hitting talking and laughing and carrying on. i asked them politely to let me hit my tee shot and he called me a dick! Same exact thing happened 3 weeks ago without the verbal abuse when i played there for the first time! Unbelievable level of arrogance at this place from the people that represent it, from the front desk staff to the league guys who seem to rule. Plus the bunkers are all unplayable because they are riddled with rocks and stones and pebbles therefore damaging any forged wedges or clubs. Sad cuz there are hundreds of them. Its all very unfortunate. Only redeeming factor was the 2 fine gentlemen I played with. Lovely chaps
Gillette Ridge
Played On 8/29/2013Not for faint of heart
I like this course, but it is very challenging. I'm a 6 and played the blue tees and I think its plenty hard from there. If your off a little, good luck. I lost 5 or 6 pro v1's that day and wasnt hitting it that bad. Bunkers are horrendous, unplayable. Greens were okay. A little slow, bumpy and not that true. good luck making any putts. All in all, I enjoyed the pain and deemed it worthwhile for 19.00.
Red at Tunxis Country Club
Played On 8/29/2013Better greens than most public courses
I played the red course, a 9 hole course, and was very pleased. Very quick 9. Place is in good shape. Good greens, a hair slow, but smooth and fairly true.

Another great day at Whitinsville GC. I would join this private club if I lived here. I have played with nice people here, mainly members.
Blackledge Country Club - Anderson's Glen
Played On 7/29/2013Great course lacking upkeep
Great layout and good test of golf skills, but the fairways hadn't been mowed for I dont know how long. Fairways were like the rough at most courses. Rough was longer and snarly, which is fine to me. Greens slow, but pretty good shape. Most courses are struggling with upkeep, since nobody plays golf anymore.
Whitinsville Golf Club
Played On 7/9/2013Great 9 hole Donald Ross design .
Classic design from the 1920', but dont let that fool you. This course is not easy. Did I mention it is private? The greens are fast and undulating and huge. If you're on the wrong side of the green, good luck. I'd recommend staying below the hole. I love it.
Great High end public golf course!
First time playing Red Tail. I think Im in love. Really like the layout. Very interesting. Didnt get bored. Hard holes, easy holes. Good shape. Greens were good. True and pretty fast. Would definitly play here again, if I could afford it.
